When a front-running presidential candidate dies unexpectedly, down-on-his-luck Alderman Mays Gilliam (Rock) is pulled from obscurity into the spotlight. Mays older brother jumps in as his running mate as he struggles to pull together a campaign team. Mays finds his whole life changing before his eyes and even his ex-girlfriend is taking another look at him.
