NOTICE OF MEETING
A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:
DATE: Thursday, January 4, 2007
TIME: 4:30 p.m.
PLACE: Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level
The meeting will be called to order.
1. PUBLIC COMMENT
(This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)
2. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES ACTION
Presentation, discussion, and possible action to approve the minutes of the regular Library Commission meeting of December 7, 2006.

3. CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT by City Librarian Luis Herrera DISCUSSION
(This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements)
The City Librarian will report on the following topics: information on the Japanese Internment exhibit – “If They Came for Me Today: The Japanese American Internment Project”; update on library services at the new Juvenile Hall; update on the Main Library’s Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) renovations; and highlights on exhibitions and programs.
4. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT DISCUSSION
(This item is to allow the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission on their current and proposed activities.)
5. BRANCH LIBRARY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (BLIP) REPORT DISCUSSION
Presentation and discussion on the progress and status of the 2000 Branch Library Improvement Program (BLIP).
6. ADMENDMENT TO COMMISSION BYLAWS ACTION
Amending Library Commission Bylaws. Article III, Section 6 to conform to the Attendance Policy adopted at the Library Commission meeting held on November 16, 2006. (Continued from the meeting of 12/7/06)

7. ELECTION OF COMMISSION OFFICERS FOR 2007 ACTION
Presentation, discussion and possible action to nominate and/or elect Public Library Commission officers for 2007.
8. LABOR UNION REPORT
(This item is to allow members of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)
9. NEW BUSINESS
(This item is to allow Commissioners to introduce new agenda items for consideration.)
