NOTICE OF MEETING

A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

DATE:            Thursday, April 2, 2009

TIME:             4:30 PM

PLACE:          Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level

The meeting will be called to order.

1.    PUBLIC COMMENT

(This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)

2. CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT by Luis Herrera                                        DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements).  The City Librarian will give updates on the following topics: Trends in Library Use; Library Children’s Services/Dia de los Niños; Fee Amnesty Program; Library Patron Privacy Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ);  and highlights on exhibitions and programs.

3.  FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT                                     DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.)

4.  LABOR UNION REPORT                                                                       DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow representatives of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)

5.  APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES                                                       ACTION

Presentation, discussion and possible action to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of March 5, 2009.
