NOTICE OF MEETING
A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:
DATE: Thursday, May 4, 2006
TIME: 4:00 p.m.
PLACE:Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level
The meeting will be called to order.
1. PUBLIC COMMENT
(This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)
2. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES ACTION
Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve the Minutes of the regular Library Commission meeting of March 2, 2006.

3. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT DISCUSSION
(This item is to allow the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.) .
4. LIBRARY CITIZEN’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE REPORT DISCUSSION
(This item is to allow the Board of Supervisor’s Library Citizens Advisory Committee to inform the Public Library Commissioners of their current and proposed activities.)

5. CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT by City Librarian Luis Herrera DISCUSSION
(This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements)
The City Librarian will report on the following topics: SFPL staff attendance at the Public Library Association Conference; recognition of Shelly Cocking, Borrower Services Librarian featured in Woman’s Day Magazine; update on a Main Library Fulton Street landscape project; report on security operations at the Main Library and the branches; and highlights of exhibitions and programs.
6. TECHNICAL SERVICES DIVISION OVERVIEW DISCUSSION
Presentation and discussion of an overview of the Library’s Technical Services Division.
7. RESULTS OF THE LIBRARY SATISFACTION SURVEY DISCUSSION
Presentation and discussion of the results of the Library Satisfaction Survey.

8. LABOR UNION REPORT
(This item is to allow members of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)
9. NEW BUSINESS
(This item is to allow Commissioners to introduce new agenda items for consideration.)
