NOTICE OF MEETING

 

A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

TIME:              4:30 PM

PLACE:           Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level

 

The meeting will be called to order.

 

1.      PUBLIC COMMENT

(This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)

 

2.  APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES                                                  ACTION

(Presentation, discussion and possible action to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of July 19, 2007.)

3.  BOND PROGRAM MANAGER’S REPORT                               DISCUSSION

(This is a discussion item to allow the Branch Library Bond Program Manager to report on recent bond program related activities and make announcements.)

This report will consist of an informational presentation: none; regular reports: program budget, schedule, and construction reports; active projects; and community outreach; and special reports: none.

4.  FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR RE-USE OF 201 LELAND AVENUE FOR NEW VISITACION VALLEY BRANCH LIBRARY                                       ACTION

(Presentation, discussion and possible action on the “Visitacion Valley New Branch Library Feasibility Study for Adaptive Re-Use of 201 Leland Avenue” commissioned by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.)

5.  AMENDMENTS TO GUIDELINES FOR LIBRARY USE                       ACTION

(Presentation, discussion and possible action to amend the Guidelines for Library Use.)

Explanatory documents:  Cover memo, draft Guidelines for Library Use with underline additions dated July 19, 2007.

 

6.  CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT by Luis Herrera                                       DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements.)  The City Librarian will give updates on the following topics: Link Plus interlibrary lending program; Marina Branch opening; Music Collection; library legislative issues and highlights on exhibitions and programs.

 

7.  FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT                                                 DISCUSSION

 (This item is to allow the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.)

 

8.  LABOR UNION REPORT                                                                        DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow representatives of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)

 

9. NEW BUSINESS                                                                           DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow Commissioners to introduce new agenda items for consideration.)
