A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

2.† BAYVIEW/ANNA E. WADEN† BRANCH LIBRARY BRICK SCULPTURE††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† ††††††††††††††††††††††† ††††††††† †DISCUSSION/POSSIBLE ACTION

(Discussion and possible action urging the Arts Commission to approve the de-accessioning and demolition of the brick sculpture on the entry wall of the current Bayview/Anna E. Waden Branch Library)

3.† UPDATE ON POSSIBLE INITIATION OF LANDMARK DESIGNATION BY THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION FOR CERTAIN BRANCH LIBRARIES††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† ††††††††††† DISCUSSION/POSSIBLE ACTION

(This item is to discuss and possibly urge the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) to approve the Planning Department Staff recommendations regarding initiation of landmark designation of the Park Branch Library and five Appleton & Wolfard Branch Libraries - Parkside, Marina, Merced, North Beach, and Eureka Valley.

5. CITY LIBRARIANíS REPORT by Luis Herrera††††††††††††††† †††††††††† ††††††††††† †DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements).† The City Librarian will give updates on the following topics:† new San Francisco Public Library website; Bernal Heights Branch Library mural; and Children and Youth October Programs.

 

6.† LABOR UNION REPORT†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† †††† †††††† DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow representatives of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commissionís purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commissionís consideration.)

 

7. †APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES AUGUST 20, 2009†††††††††††††††† ††††† ACTION

(Presentation, discussion and possible action to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of August 20, 2009.
