NOTICE OF MEETING

A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

PLACE:           Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level

The meeting will be called to order.

1.      PUBLIC COMMENT

(This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)

4.  CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT by Luis Herrera                                       DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements.)  The City Librarian will give updates on the following topics: Supporting Successful Teens; Chief of Main Kathy Lawhun’s appointment to the Depository Library Council; Shades of LGBTQI; and highlights on exhibitions and programs.

5.  FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT                                                 DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.)

6.  COUNCIL OF NEIGHBORHOOD LIBRARIES (CNL)               DISCUSSION

     REPORT

(This item is to allow the CNL to inform the Commission of its current and proposed activities.)

7.  PROJECT READ                                                                          DISCUSSION

(Presentation and discussion of the Project Read program)

8.  FOCUS ON:  CHINESE CENTER AT THE MAIN LIBRARY     DISCUSSION

(Presentation and discussion of the programs, services and community outreach for the Chinese Center at the Main Library)

9.  LABOR UNION REPORT                                                                       DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow representatives of labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)

10. NEW BUSINESS                                                                         DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow Commissioners to introduce new agenda items for consideration.)
