Eighteen of Northern Ireland’s most significant contemporary printmakers present 35 works reflecting the styles, interests and concerns of the unique and vibrant culture of the country. Thanks to the pre-recession rise in the European economy and the end of factional violence in the region, Northern Ireland experienced a renaissance in which its cultural history and its contemporary art played equally starring roles. The artworks were created from a variety of techniques, including monotype, collagraph prints, monoprints, viscosity printing, and carborundum. Many of the featured prints offer a glimpse into ever-changing landscape of Northern Ireland – the dramatic coastline, the incredible color of the sea and the bleakness of the rain.
