Join us when author Stephen Jimenez talks about his new book The Book of Matt: Hidden Truths about the Murder of Matthew Shepard. Matt Shepard was found savagely beaten, unconscious, and tied to a fence before he died on Oct. 12, 1998. While much that is positive followed in the aftermath of the crime including national hate crime legislation, a new book reveals that the underpinnings of the accepted story behind the murder are largely false. The murder was not a hate crime but one of drug trafficking and addiction to the drug methamphetamine. A book sale by Readers Books follows the event.
