Local author Marcus Ewert reads and discusses his groundbreaking book for young readers about transgender issues, 10,000 Dresses, at the Fisher Children's Center on Saturday, August 10th, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Marcus will be available for a question and answer session and a book-signing, and also a hands-on activity in which kids in attendance can make their own dazzling dress creations out of paper.
"This is a celebratory and sensitive book about self-acceptance and identity. We are thrilled to welcome all San Francisco families with school age children to this conversation and afternoon of arts and crafts," says Our Family Coalition's Education Director Tarah Fleming.
Free to the public, the event requires registration at www.ourfamily.org. The first 10 families to arrive will receive a signed copy of 10,000 Dresses. Space is limited, so don't delay! See you there!
