We Are All Poets: Youth and City Officials Celebrate Poetry

Event detail

Poetry offers powerful leadership through imagination; we are all poets in our hearts and minds. On Saturday, Oct. 26, "We Are All Poets," a poetry and literacy program, will unite middle and high school students with local government officials through poetry and envisioning a shared future of greater social justice. The event will take place in the San Francisco Public Library’s Koret Auditorium from 1 to 3 p.m.

All participants will receive a “Youth Poet Laureate” certificate and an invitation to meet the city's current Poet Laureate, Alejandro Murguia.

For more information, contact event organizers, Virginia Barrett and Bobby Coleman (co-editors of the anthology Occupy SF—poems from the movement), at SFyouthpoetry@gmail.com.
