Swing Into Stories

Growing Community

11:00 - 12:00 noon

The Growing Community is a new program by Mobile Outreach Services.  We’ll be partnering with non-profit and community based organizations at our Swing Into Stories Parque Niños Unidos playground visits, located at 23rd & Treat Streets in the Mission. These partnerships are meant to bring useful information directly into the community.   Our first partnership will take place on Tuesday, September 10th from 11am to noon and will be with the Jamestown Community Center.

For over 40 years, the Jamestown Community Center has been providing learning opportunities and safe spaces for young people in San Francisco’s Mission District.  The Jamestown Community Center’s mission is to mobilize the resources of families, neighborhood residents, and other community members to help young people realize their full potential as empowered and productive members of society. Today, Jamestown fulfills this mission by providing more than 700 youth, ages 0-18, with a full range of early education, educational enrichment, academic support, leadership, employment, sports, and counseling and prevention programs.

Note: This event will be taking place at a location outside the San Francisco network of public libraries. For questions concerning the event, please contact the hosting library: Bookmobiles / Mobile Outreach.
