Daphne Gottlieb stitches together the ivory tower and the gutter just using her tongue. She is the author/editor of nine books, including five books of poetry (most recently 2011's 15 Ways to Stay Alive), 2012's nonfiction Dear Dawn: Aileen Wuornos in Her Own Words, a graphic novel (Jokes and the Unconscious, with illustrator Diane DiMassa) and two anthologies. She is the winner of an Audre Lorde Award for Poetry, a Firecracker Alternative Book Award, an inaugural Acker Award, and she is a five-time finalist for the Lambda Literary Award. By day, she tends to the casualties of San Francisco's class war. In her spare time, she is a visiting professor at Mills College for the spring of 2014.
