Pulitzer Prize-winning author Miriam Pawel will discuss the life story of the country's most significant Latino leader.  Her new book, The Crusades of Cesar Chavez, is the first comprehensive biography of the visionary thinker.   It draws on thousands of documents and scores of interviews, deepening our understanding of Chavez's humanity.

Pawel is the author of The Union of Their Dreams, widely acclaimed as the most nuanced history of Chavez's movement. She spent 25 years as an editor and reporter for Newsday and the Los Angeles Times.

The San Francisco History Center and the International Center.are co-sponsoring the talk. A book sale and signing will follow. All programs at the Library are free. Book sales provided by Readers Bookstore.
