A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows: Date: Thursday, November 18, 2004 Time: 4:00 PM Place: Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level The meeting will be called to order. 1. PUBLIC COMMENT (This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.) 2. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES - ACTION Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve the Minutes of the regular Commission meeting October 21, 2004. Explanatory document: Minutes 3. BOND PROGRAM MANAGER’S REPORT - DISCUSSION (This is a discussion item to allow the Branch Library Bond Program Manager to report on recent bond program related activities and make announcements.) This report will consist of an informational presentation: none; regular reports: program budget, schedule, and construction reports; active projects; and community outreach; and special reports: Western Addition Peer Review response. WI-FI & RFID UPDATE - DISCUSSION Presentation of, and discussion of, a report concerning Wi-Fi service at the Library, and an update on plans for RFID. 6. PROP. E HOURS - ACTION Presentation of and discussion of, and possible action to approve establishing service hours for the Main and Branch Libraries for the five-year period beginning January 1, 2005. 7. PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT-City Librarian - ACTION Open Session: Public Comment (on all matters pertaining to the closed session) Vote on whether to hold closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957(b) (1) and San Francisco Administrative Code Section 67.10(b) - Personnel Matter-Public Employee appointment-City Librarian Closed Session: PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT- CITY LIBRARIAN Discussion and possible action Reconvene in open Session: a) Vote whether to disclose any or all discussions held in closed session (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 67.12(a)). b) Disclosure of action taken in closed session. 8. NOMINEE SELECTION PROCEDURES - ACTION Discussion and possible action to approve procedures to select nominees for the position of City Librarian including setting dates and times for special meetings and possible action to create a subcommittee of the Commission to interview candidates and make recommendations to the Commission. 9.
