Creating Coraline: The Making of a New Musical

How do you take a popular children's book plus Oscar-nominated movie and turn it into a stage musical? Go behind the scenes of making the new musical Coraline in this special presentation at the San Francisco Main Library. Find out what it takes to go from the page to the stage with SF Playhouse's Artistic Director Bill English and special guests. Attendees also have a chance to win tickets to see the show.

The SF Playhouse is presenting the West Coast premiere of Coraline, a new work starting November 16, 2010, with book by David Greenspan, music and lyrics by Stephin Merritt (of the band The Magnetic Fields), and adapted from the children's book by Newbery Award-winning writer Neil Gaiman.

When: Sunday, November 28, 2010, 3-4:30 p.m.

Where: San Francisco Main Library, 100 Larkin Street, Koret Auditorium.
