Volunteer at the Library!

San Francisco Public Library has opportunities for teens to volunteer at many library locations. Start by filling out a general volunteer application.

See below for descriptions of current openings for specific volunteer projects. Print out the corresponding application and submit it to the location listed on the application by the deadline.

Volunteers Needed at Chinatown Branch

Looking to get involved in your community? Need volunteer hours for school? Learn to work with your peers, create a positive environment for seniors & children, and have fun while doing it. We are looking for helpful and enthusiastic individuals who would like to help us out with our public events and library-focused programs at Chinatown Library. Please register and return the form to Jewel, Teen Services Librarian at Chinatown Library. For information, contact Jewel at 415-355-2888 or jewelchen@sfpl.org.

Teen Computer Corps at Excelsior Branch

Teens work with other teens, helping seniors and adults learn how to use the Internet, email, word processing, and gadgets such as cell phones, digital cameras, and portable devices.

Teens must commit to volunteering every Saturday for 6 weeks from 3:15 – 5:15 p.m. This is a great way to earn community service hours. There will be a mandatory training on the first Saturday of the series at 1:00 p.m, (just before the first session).

Apply to be a Teen Computer Corps volunteer. For more information, contact Marla, Teen Services Librarian, at mbergman@sfpl.org or 415-355-2868.
