They Are Back or Are They? by Edwin Caughell

Well, well, it’s the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the New England Patriots. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick against Bill Cowher (who can not win the big one) and his rookie quarterback, Ben Roethisberger. It’s the New England Patriots who want to make believers out of the football world, against the Pittsburgh Steelers’ best record in the league with a rookie quarterback that wants to show the world that he (Big Ben, as the team calls him) can win it all.

It’s also those “Terrible Towels” which Pittsburgh Fans taunt opposing teams with, plus home field advantage in which the Pittsburgh Steelers play flawless football at. So the stage is set. So on with the game.

The first half New England dominated. Their defense stopped Pittsburgh’s awesome running attack, “One of the best in the league.” The New England’s defensive front line stopped Pittsburgh’s offensive attack cold. They out played them knowing their every move. New England’s defenders stuck on Pittsburgh’s receiver’s life clue, which made the rookie quarterback think and throw costly interceptions. Interceptions which New England made Pittsburgh pay for in the tune of a 24-3 half time lead.

Boy, at half time no one in the stadium thought this was going to be the score, including Pittsburgh. In fact the fans boo the Steelers has they went into half time. A first in Pittsburgh.

Wow the lecture Bill Coher must have gave the team, and what was the rookie quarterback thinking now?

As far as the Patriot’s, are the they going to get big heads and think it’s over, we got this turkeys right where we want them nothing can stop us from winning nothing, that is what Pittsburgh was hoping for and the fans too.

In the first half, New England took advantage of Pittsburgh’s turnovers with a patience running and throwing attack. New England kept Pittsburgh’s defense guessing what they were going to do next then New England’s Tom Brady would connect with a few long passes at the right time to completely fool the Pittsburgh defense. New England played “Super Bowl Champ” style football in first half.

Second half was supposed to be Pittsburgh’s defense stopping New England’s offense, then go to work offensively, with (Big Ben as the Steelers fans would call him) go to work, making up for the mistakes he made in the first half.

This did not happen. Big Ben did throw a couple of touchdowns that were meant for a win. Pittsburgh’s defense could not stop the Brady-Owens showing in the air. Plus Tom Brady and the New England’s coaching staff picked Pittsburgh’s defense apart with long drives with long drives that ate up the time clock.

New England controlled the football game. They won my vote for repeat “Super Bowl Champions” and probably made believers out of a lot of football fan in them.

Coach Belichick told the team before the game that he believed in them as a team, go win the game for yourselves and the football world. The Players of New England respected what the coach said and won. Won big 41-27 improving their playoff record to 9-1, plus they are 6 to 10 point favorite in the Super Bowl, The big game, and why not??? They proved themselves today.

I believe the New England Patriots play one team at a time. They study each team they play week after week and play team football. They listen and do what their coaches tell them. They are well discipline as a team. The New England Patriots love to play football because they love the sport of football and play like a team.

Go PATRIOTS go! Show the world what “team work and team spirit can do for you. Win the big one for yourselves and the football world!
