Annual Reports

Publicly-traded companies produce annual reports for their shareholders and to satisfy Securities and Exchange Commission requirements. The Library has a current, representative collection of these reports. There are a variety of ways to search for them and the information they contain about the companies:
  • SFPL Online resources: Mergent Online is a business database that includes scanned annual reports from public companies worldwide. Mergent also links to EDGAR (Securities and Exchange Commission) filings and corporate histories. Access to Mergent Online and other resources is provided by SFPL Online.
  • On the Internet: The Librarians' Internet Index (LII) maintains a number of useful links under the subject heading corporation reports.
  • On microfiche: Older annual reports – some dating back to the 1970s – can also be found on microfiche. Quarterly reports, proxy statements and 10Ks may also be available. Reports on microfiche are for in-Library use on our 5th floor microfiche readers and printers.
  • On paper: A limited collection of recent printed annual reports is kept in the Business, Science and Technology Department (BST) for in-library use. This collection is primarily meant to offer representative examples of printed annual reports
