African American Center Exhibit Space - 3rd Floor
100 Larkin St.
The African American Center of The San Francisco Public Library presents a special exhibition on The Underground Railroad. A tribute to the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, this exhibition features historic artifacts of work songs and songs of faith sung by slaves in the field. These songs became symbols and code words for slaves to follow in escaping to the North and to Canada through The Underground Railroad.
