San Francisco History Comes to Life:

Children's Center Exhibit Space - 2nd Floor

100 Larkin St.

Beginning June 1st, 2012, the San Francisco Public Library Fisher Children's Center will display the original artwork from author Milly Lee's Landed and Nim and the War Effort.  Artifacts from Angel Island Immigration Station will be on display along with the artwork, providing context for the story of Chinese immigrants who came to the United States as "paper sons," or false immigrants, to circumvent the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act.   Come and view the vivid color paintings of artist Yangsook Choi, on display for the first time at the Main Library's 2nd floor.  The exhibit will be on view  from June 1st until August 31st, 2012.
