1801 Green StreetKALW is the oldest FM station west of the Mississippi, having broadcast in San Francisco since 1941. It was the first station to bring NPR and the BBC to the Bay Area, and is now the home of dozens of locally-produced programs, including current affairs shows like Your Call and Crosscurrents and music programs stretching from American roots to the avant garde. General Manager Matt Martin will talk about the state of non-commercial media, and he’d love to hear your ideas about how Local Public Radio can amplify what’s best in San Francisco’s cultural and political life.
