What does the Public Library mean to you? What does it mean to your community?
Filmmakers Dawn Logsdon and Lucie Faulknor are launching a documentary film project to explore the history, spirit and challenges of the American free public library. Join them, along with author Jewelle Gomez, historian Wayne Weigand, and archival film expert Rick Prelinger, for an afternoon of short films and stories about libraries and their significance, including excerpts from their documentary in-progress and rare archival films (many from the Prelinger collection).
Made possible by the Creative Work Fund, ArtsPlace, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the James Irvine Foundation.
