A lecture based on a new book, "Introduction to American Deaf Culture"

Thomas Holcomb, Professor of Deaf Studies at Ohlone College, brings his experience as a deaf person in a deaf family to his presentation on his new book, Introduction to American Deaf Culture, published by Oxford University Press.

Introduction to American Deaf Culture takes a cultural look at the deaf community and looks at various ways deaf people live in a world dominated by hearing people.

This lecture will be presented in American Sign Language, with voice interpretation. The Main Library is wheelchair accessible. To request other accommodations, call (415) 557-4557 or contact mgoddard@sfpl.org. Requesting accommodations at least 72 hours in advance will help ensure availability.
