Netheryonder's National Poetry Month Celebration

4/24/2013
7:00 - 8:30

Bernal Heights

Bernal Heights Meeting Room

500 Cortland Avenue

In celebration of National Poetry Month, Netheryonder brings together local artists to read original work, alongside interpretations of classic literary material. The evening will feature stories, poems and songs from Bay Area artists Evan Winchester, Ariel Hansen, Tamara Williams, Adam Donnegan Fischer, as well as music from Ellisa Hammersla. The event will be hosted by Andy Strong. One of the goals of the evening is giving current artists the opportunity to share airwaves with the likes of classic poets and storytellers, and allowing the audience to examine the growth they have achieved since first hearing the classic texts. Among the classics being read will be "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe , "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman, and "America" by Allen Ginsberg.

Celebrate poetry! Celebrate language! Celebrate Yourself!
