Workshop for people with a hearing loss
Talking about your hearing loss and your communication needs can be difficult, frustrating and leave us feeling vulnerable. This workshop is designed for people who may not use sign language as their primary language and want to improve communication and coping skills when interacting with others. Participants will discuss effective ways of talking about hearing loss as well as identify their individual needs and learn how to anticipate, plan and be proactive in challenging situations. Facilitated by Marisa Musso MFTi from Family Service Agency of San Francisco's Deaf Community Counseling Services (FSA DCCS).
CART (captions in real time) and American Sign Language interpreters will be provided during the workshop. To request other accommodations, please contact Marti Goddard at firstname.lastname@example.org. Requesting accommodations at least 72 hours in advance will help ensure availability.
Sponsored by Deaf Services Center and Family Service Agency of San Francisco's Deaf Community Counseling Services.
