The Marjorie G. and Carl W. Stern Book Arts & Special Collections Center presents the 18th Annual Holiday Lecture entitled “William Addison Dwiggins, Black & White Smith” an illustrated talk by Rob Saunders.      

Letterer, calligrapher, and illustrator, W.A. Dwiggins (1880-1956) was also an advertising, book, and type designer in addition to being a maker of marionettes and a colorful character. Join us for this visually sumptuous and fascinating talk.            

Saunders is the curator of the Letterform Archive. He collects “inspirational analog artifacts to digitize in high fidelity, for all who love letters.” He has been collecting for over 35 years while pursuing a career as a designer, teacher, publisher, and consultant.
