Deaf Services Center: Bay Area Classes

Note: The schedule below reflects our best efforts to find all deaf-related classes offered locally. Please contact individual schools to confirm their offerings and find other classes not listed below.
ASL (American Sign Language) = the primary means of communication among culturally Deaf people
SEE (Signing Exact English) = a system that parallels spoken or written English
INTERPRETING = the skill required to translate from spoken English to Sign Language, and from Sign Language to spoken English
DEAF CULTURE = an academic course which examines characteristics of the Deaf Community
DEAF EDUCATION = teacher credential courses which focus on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
