The San Francisco Historical Photograph Collection database grows with recently cataloged scans added and updated monthly. Contributions to the database draw from two sources. The photo curator and staff make selections based on popular subjects with consideration given to subject areas not yet represented in the database and patron requests. The second source derives from the new scans the public orders from the various San Francisco Historical Photograph Collections. When an individual orders a high-resolution scan from the collection, the new scan is cataloged and added to the database.
