A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows: DATE: Thursday, October 6, 2005
TIME: 4:00 p.m.
PLACE: Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level The meeting will be called to order. 1. PUBLIC COMMENT (This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.) 2. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES - ACTION Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve the Minutes of the regular Commission meeting September 1, 2005. Explanatory documents: minutes 3. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT - DISCUSSION (This item is to allow the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.) 4. CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT - DISCUSSION by City Librarian Luis Herrera (This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements) The City Librarian will report on the following subjects: Update on closing celebration for Sunset Branch renovation; information on Board of Supervisors resolution authorizing Library to accept and expend donations from the Friends of the Library; information on a relationship agreement between the Library and the Friends of the Library; update on the work of the Library Technology and Privacy Committee; the Library’s response to Katrina relief efforts for libraries; information on the “On the Same Page: San Francisco Reads” program; and a summary of upcoming Exhibits and Programs. Explanatory document: Cooperation Framework Agreement (PDF) 5. LIVE HOMEWORK HELP PROGRAM - DISCUSSION Presentation on and discussion of the Live Homework Help Library project. 6. LABOR UNION REPORT (This item is to allow members of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration. 7.
