Youth Volunteer Opportunities
Youth Volunteer opportunities vary greatly by library location. Most youth opportunities are handled locally. It is strongly recommended that youth (and their parents) initially contact the location of interest first to see if opportunities are available.
- General Library Helper – General help around the Library and/or at special Library events.
- Homework Help Assistant – Works with school-aged children, generally during after school hours, answering homework and school-related topics.
- Kid Power Summer Volunteer – Help library users sign up for the Summer Reading Program.(This opportunity starts recruitment in early/mid-May and is usually filled to capacity by early June.) Please contact your branch library for more information, or the Main Library’s Children’s Center beginning in May.) Do not complete the Youth Volunteer Application for this opportunity; your local library will have further instructions.
If you are under the age of 18 and are interested in the General Library Helper or Homework Help Assistant positions, please download the Youth Volunteer Application
and return to the Library at which you wish to volunteer.
