Reversing Vandalism

When I received this small book I felt the cuts in it should be emphasized. I wanted to take advantage of the curved cut in the front of the book as curves in book forms are rare. The best way to give this small cut book a grand presence was to create a larger sculptural form with the curved cut as a starting point. I began folding the cut sections and a tree or a mushroom or an umbrella form developed. Gold was added to give the form a bolder, more elegant surface.
