The inspiration for this piece was consuming vandalism and consuming violence. We consume a lot of different images, emotions and stimuli everyday through our daily routines and through the media. When I heard that someone had destroyed so many books at the San Francisco Public Library, I was shocked. I cannot comprehend why a person would want to do such a thing. On this day I was fed a large dose of violence and vandalism against a specific group of people and I immediately wanted to help so I sent for a book and began working on the project. Hopefully through the sale of this piece the Library can gain back a few of the books that were lost.
