When I first heard about this project through a friend, I was saddened to hear that in this day and age books are still being attacked, despised, and feared. I decided to turn this negative into a positive and design a mask that embraces the life of the book and its subsequent rebirth through this exhibition. My hope is that through this exhibition people can learn to embrace the differences that lie in each of us and be inspired to walk with love instead of fear in their lives.
