If I had to choose one word to describe my art, it would have to be “eclectic.” I am always trying new tools and mediums to explore my creativity. If I can stamp it, bead it, or glue it to something, then it's definitely fair game! Altering books is a new art form for me, which I am enjoying tremendously. I am definitely subject to the whims of my muse; often times my projects end up going in a completely different direction from what I originally envisioned. This piece for the Reversing Vandalism exhibition is a prime example of this. What was originally intended to be a sober piece talking about the importance of tolerance ended up as a (mostly) bright and whimsical celebration of diversity. I hope others enjoy seeing and interacting with it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
