The altered book I have created is designed to dispel darkness of ideas and expose those
ideas to the light of Truth. There is no time for hate, and only in the light of Truth can
freedom exist. I began with a concept, and allowed it to take its own shape... all around
the small tap light and the shape of the circle. There are no sides to Truth: Truth simply IS.
The various mediums and phrases are all designed to express light in different forms. The
final page includes a reference to Ultimate Truth and full light. My hope is that through
this work, darkness can be pierced with a ray of light that will spread through all sides of
American culture. My high school students have learned a great deal about spreading light
instead of perpetuating darkness even as I have worked through this altered book. Thank
you for the opportunity to express myself in this artistic fashion.
