I wanted to turnabout the negative gesture of the cuts and use them to celebrate the sexual history described in the book The Other Face of Love. Inspired by the structure of a children’s book from the 1950s, a “peepshow book”, I took the book apart and sewed and taped it back together inside-out, arranging the cuts to form peepholes. The viewer becomes the voyeur.
