San Francisco Public Library is now offering popular eBooks, audio books, music and video downloads to access from your personal computer, all available for free with just a library card.

With thousands of digital media titles to select from, this new online service spans nearly every genre: bestselling fiction novels, self-improvement guides, biographies, classical and new age music, educational videos, TV programs, feature films, cult classics and more.

Visit sfpl.org/emedia/ and click on the OverDrive icon to install the free media software, browse the collection, and select titles to add to a cart. Checkout is simple. Just enter a valid library card number and download the digital media to your personal computer. When the download process is complete, you can enjoy titles on your PC or transfer to any compatible WMA/MP3 or WMV player and even burn some titles to CD. You can also go directly to the site at sfpl.lib.overdrive.com to get started downloading.

Digital downloads are easy to check out and download, and the best part is there are never any late fees because your titles are automatically returned at the end of the lending period.
