San Francisco Public Library presents


2005 Teen Summer Read


San Francisco – San Francisco Public Library’s 2005 Teen Summer Read will be held from June 11th through July 23rd at 25 different library locations. Teen readers are encouraged to join the program and win prizes for summer reading, including gift certificates to Borders Books and Music, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream coupons, free books, amusement park passes, free arts classes, and more!

All registered teens will receive a Teen Read button. Teen Summer Read participants will be required to read 10, 20, or 30 hours, and record their thoughts about what they read on comment cards. For every ten hours of reading, they will receive a prize as well as a chance to win grand raffle prizes at the end of the program. Those who read 30 hours will receive an invitation to a finale party on July 29th for teens only with entertainment and refreshments. Prize incentives for Teen Summer Read are as follows:

  • 10 hours – tri-lighter logo pen
  • 20 hours - Ben & Jerry’s ice cream cone
  • 30 hours – Borders Books & Music gift certificate

Teen Summer Read participants may read books, magazines, graphic novels, or newspapers to qualify (E-mail is not eligible). All teens who read 30 hours or more will be eligible to enter a raffle for additional prizes.
