Nomination forms for the new San Francisco Poet Laureate now are available at the San Francisco Public Library, Main Library and branches, as well as on the Library’s Web site, www.sfpl.org/poetlaureate.htm.
Poet Laureate nominees must be San Francisco residents and have a substantial body of published work. Responsibilities of the Poet Laureate include delivering a public inaugural address on the state of poetry to an audience
at the San Francisco Public Library; participating in community-based poetry events; working on one or more poetry-centered events in cooperation with the Library; doing a reading at Litquake.
The deadline for nominations has been extended through September 30, 2008.
