What is Teen'Zine?

The San Francisco Chinatown Teen'Zine is an after-school program that uses the internet and related media and technologies to engage youth with the local community.

About Us

Chinatown Teen'Zine started in the Fall of 2002 at the San Francisco Public Library's Chinatown branch as an online magazine for teens. Today, our focus is still on improving the teen's writing, reporting, and editing skills. In addition to writing, the teens learn HTML programming, web programming, photo editing, and other computer related skills.

As participants of the Chinatown Teen'Zine program, the teens, both native San Franciscans and immigrants, work together and learn about Asian American history, Chinese language, and culture.

Teen'Zine meets twice a week at the Chinatown Branch Library in San Francisco on Friday afternoons, from 3:30PM to 5:30 PM and on Saturday afternoons from 1:00PM to 3:00PM. Please see our Calendar of Events for detailed information on our upcoming events.
