Jewelry-Making with Chelsee Robinson!

In this fun, free, hands-on workshop, local designer and entrepreneur Chelsee Robinson will guide you in creating your own beautiful bracelet, necklace, or earrings. Come for the fun, leave with a skill! Materials provided. Ages 12-18.

Crafty Teen: Knots!

Already a Pro and want something to do?

We’ll provide the materials (embroidery floss, lanyard, etc.) and instructions.

Thinking ’bout getting inked? Come join us at the Mission Branch Library for a free organic temporary tattoo! Unravel the mystery of henna and its ancient/traditional uses, learn how to apply it, and have all your questions answered by SF’s natural henna artist, Charitie Bolling. All participants will receive a free design for participating. Refreshments will be provided. Bring a friend and get entered into a raffle for a chance to win a gift after the workshop! Space is limited! Don’t miss out!!

Heart-shaped Lanyard

Creative Crafts for Teens

You might have some talents in craft. Try different craft projects and do it yourself, including beading, weaving, drawing and more. Making a heart-shaped lanyard is a special Valentine project. Craft materials are provided. For teens and tweens, age 8 – 18. Program will be held at Joe DiMaggio Playground Clubhouse, 661 Lombard Street.

Teen Winter Reading Contest

December 18, 2010 to January 8, 2011

Bayview, Chinatown, Main Teen Center, North Beach, Ortega, Parkside, Portola, Richmond, Visitacion Valley, West Portal

What are you doing over winter break? Why not sign up for the Teen Winter Reading Contest?

How it works:

* Beginning Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, visit a participanting library and pick up a reading log.

* Fill out one reading log for every five hours that you read.

* Return the logs to a participanting library by Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011.

* For every 5 hours you read, your name will be automatically entered into a raffle for cool prizes! The more you read, the more chances you have to win!

You must be between the ages of 12 and 18 and have a San Francisco Public Library card to enter.

All program at the Library are free. Supported by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.
