  2. The Hunger Games
    Suzzane Collins

I was litarally obssed with the book it made my heart pound when katniss was entered in the games it’s the #1 book on my favorites list the book/trilogy are so EXSTORDANARY i couldn’t stop reading! i always had to see what happened next because by the end of every chapter i was always so curious ” what’s going to happen next!!?? i need to know!” i was so obssed with the trilogys that i even got in trouble in class for reading it! Suzzane Collins really out done herself! this is the best book/trilogy iv ever read!!!!! even if your not that much of a reader u should at least try because after the first chapter you will have your eyes sticked to the pages! If your into war and romance and SERIOUS adventure this is the right book 4 you! iv even got my friend that hates reading a try at it… well i read the first chapter for her but she told me ” read the next chapter! i want to know what happens!” she was so excited to know what happened next! and i’m even reading the trilogy again. Some people say it’s violent but it’s just a story it’s not like people actually take kids 12-18 to fight to the death i mean the characters have to fight and it fits the whole story. I even saw the movie it was SPECTACULAR! after the movie my friends and i turned to eachother and said ” i want to see that again!” it was pretty awesome in our opinions.
you should read it, it’s better than sitting on the couch all day on summer break with nothing to do… you mine as well read a good book ( it’s like a movie in your head!) Anyway… it’s NOTHING like twilight theres actually more action than romance and it’s not as cheesy… come on people twilight is VERY cheesy ;p

  3. The Clique
    By Lisi Harrison
This book is hilarious ! The setting takes place in Larchmont New York or as they call it West Chester. The novel describes the dramatic lives of a popular blond named Massie Block and her so called Clique. She has to remodel her life for her Dads friends family to come live with them. The family is from Orlando and has a daughter named Claire who is Massies age though never actually be friends Massie. I would definetly advise this book to middle school girls! Very funny!

  5. The Hunger Games
    by Suzanne Collins

6 out of 5 stars. No, that was not a typo. I mean it.
Due to a war in the past, the president of Panem (a futuristic North America) holds a Hunger Games every year to remind the 12 districts that they cannot challenge the power of the Capitol. One boy and one girl from each district are selected to take part in the game, and each will fight to the death until only one remains. I was completely hooked because it was just so full of suspense, although the next two books (Catching Fire / Mockingjay) have some slow parts. I loved how this books series had some romance, but was not completely centered around it. The Hunger Games actually had a plot and twists/surprises, so that I could not put the book down. When I decided to go to bed at 3AM, I could hardly sleep because my mind was only focused on what might happen next. The Hunger Games is right behind Harry Potter for my favorite books. The movie’s coming out in March and I cannot wait!

  6. The Catcher in the Rye
    J.D. Salinger

    AMAZING BOOK. INSTA-FAVORITE.

This was actually a book I was required to read for my English class. You would think that all school-assigned books are absolutely boring; but not in this case. The Catcher in the Rye is in first-person tense and definitely keeps you on your toes.
The Catcher in the Rye follows a young teen, Holden Caulfield, as he yet again gets kicked off of his school. Instead of leaving after the semester ends, Holden decides to run away. Equipped with his red hunting hat and his savings, he spends his life the way he wants to until the Wednesday after.
I think everyone can relate to Holden. After this book, I honestly feel him inside of me; I hear his voice and his pessimistic comments about life and people. This is a must read. And this is coming from a person who isn’t an avid reader.

  7. The Angel Experiment
    by James Patterson

    5 out of 5 stars
This is an awesome book. Maximum Ride(Max), Fang, Nudge, Iggy, the Gasman, and Angel should could be mistaken for normal people, but they’re actually 98% human and 2% bird. Together, they have escaped the lab institute, which they call the School, where they were genetically changed to have bird DNA. An amazing book about running away, but at the same time fighting back. Once you start reading, you’ll probably find yourself under your blanket at 1:00 in the morning with a flashlight turning the pages, waiting to find out what happens. I’m sure that you’ll love it! If you have read it, there is a series.

  8. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan
    by Lisa See

A book that is now a major motion movie. The book itself was great and the front cover artwork was amazing. The story and the outline of the story was wonderful. It’s basically about two laotang “old sames” who are writing secret messages to each other so that they can share what they want to share without the influence of men. They are writing in the secret language known as “nu shu.” Currently, it is the only language ever known that women can use to write to each other. But however, a simple misunderstanding tears apart their friendship and now Lily must resolve the misunderstanding or she again will have no friends and she will be alone. She must now travel and find this “Snow Flower” and if she does not, the misunderstanding will grow and their friendship will be torn apart……….

A very good read if you’re trying the chinese writers and the immigration stories and the such. It’s widely popular and the author herself has written many many good books. So, the next book you grab should definitely be this.

  9. Shadowcry

  11. Screaming Season
    by Nancy Holder

    4.5 out of 5 stars

Thrillingly suspenseful within the first chapter. Holder’s book concludes the feelings of angst, insanity, and a great fear that just can’t be let free. So real, you might even feel possessed yourself.

  12. The Broadcast
    by Eric Hobbs

    4 out of 5 Stars

Personally, looking at the cover, I didn’t think the book would be much. But, as I read it, I was hooked. The characters were interesting, each having their own meaningful place in the story instead of just being 2D cartoon characters. They actually feel real. My only complaint is that the artwork is confusing.

It’s kind of weird and confusing. There are like two different types of narrators in the story. One of them is an unknown person, a priest, and another character. The story is also kind of dark in a sense of being about Satan and this lonely, old town in England. It’s really “religious”.

This book starts off in the middle of the tale. It takes a while for the story to start unfolding. I really enjoyed reading this book because the author wrote about a subject that authors don’t usually write about. However, she writes about it in a sympathetic manner that makes you really relate to the main character. It is also written in an interesting manner because the author tells us Devon’s story piece by piece, unraveling key points at critical moments that help readers understand more of the mystery. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.

    by Heather Swain

The book was quite interesting. The main character, an elf, comes from an elf land and knows nothing about normal high school society. She doesn’t fit in, which makes her easy to relate to and her naivety makes her character amusing. It also shows how popular people and different cliques can all be close. The fantasy aspect was not strong, so even if some does not like fantasy, they will probably still enjoy this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I found that it was a really quick read for me, mainly because the story line kept me riveted until I got to the end. In some ways, it sort of reminded me of some other fantasy series I’ve read before, but I still really liked it. The author inserted quite many twists and turns throughout the plot that were quite unexpected. The main character was also really relatable (excluding the witch part). I have never really read a book like this before. It was hilarious and I found that it captured quite many aspects of high schools. I really loved how the author could write such a cute and amazing story in such a small amount of pages. The characters were simply adorable as chicks and it was great how they each had their own distinct personality. However, I’d probably wouldn’t recommend this for young teens — more for older teens because of the subjects, etc. But overall, I really loved reading this story.

This story started a bit slowly. It didn’t intrigue me or pull me in at first. But after a few chapters, I was entranced by the story and eager to learn more about Nina’s journey. While Nina, the main character, is not immediately endearing, she is a character that grows on you, and by the end of the book, you want to keep reading and experiencing her life, wishing it didn’t end. While this bitterweet tale left me hanging a bit at the end, it is beautifully written and a pleasure to read.

    Loved it!

This book is about mystery and has to do with the bit of the paranormal side. As Roland, Alicia, and Max unravel the mystery of the jardo case, they run into deep trouble while solving it. I would recommend this for likers of the paranormal or people who just want a good book to read!

    Loved it!

I really liked the manga series in this magazine because they are all very good. My favorite series in the magazine is “Bamboo Blade” because I like how it combines comedy with action in Kendo. I also like “Soul Eater” because it is very action packed and funny as well. These are my two favorite series in the magazine, but I also liked all the other ones as well.

    by David Gilman

    OK

Boring at the beginning, but it got better in the middle. I mean assasins aren’t that scary, but being chased by one is quite scary. I love the guns and stuff, but it’s not as good as “The Prince of Mist” but better than “S.T.O.R.M.: The Infinity Code”, but I still enjoyed it.

  76. You
    by Charles Benoit

    Loved it!
This book is definitely different than other ones that I have read. It is written int he 2nd person, meaning that it utilizes the word ‘you’, hence the name of the title. This is very unique. Reading the story makes you think about who you are. It makes you think about how these events could really happen to you no matter what. Overall, I really enjoyed it.

  78. The Gift
    by James Patterson

If you are an utterly, extreme lover of fantasy, pyromaniacs, suspense, girlfriend-obsessed boys, end-of-the-world mania, and sarcasm, this book is for you. However, if your love for any of the above is a bit less than “utterly extreme”, put this book down now! Sure, this book has its funny parts and fun characters, but after that, it’s just another save-the-world-from-voldemort book. Plus, a whole heck of a lot of sarcasm. Personally, not my thing. So when you’re disappointed, don’t say you weren’t warned.

  87. For the Win
    by Cory Doctorow

For the Win by Cory Doctorow has an interesting plot and fun characters, but because there are so many technical terms and business ploys of the future to explain, the story was hard for me, who is not very well informed of the technological/business worl, to understand. However, those with a better understanding of video games and politics may find this read enjoyable where I did not.

  88. Hereville: How Mirka Got Her Sword (graphic novel)
    by Barry Deutsch

    OK
This book, Hereville, was okay. Not that exciting, but I like that it was a comic and pictures. It was based on a Jewish girl which is fine, but not the most adventurous. It had fun ideas, but there still needed to be more action and creativity. I didn’t like the ending because it felt very unfinished. It better have another part.

  104. TITLE: Time Waits For No Fairy
    AUTHOR: Molly Harrigan

This book is a great book. It shows the passion of the writer for what she does. It is a great book that will leave you wanting to read more. You will not realize as the chapters go by, and you will end up reading, under your bed sheets, until 2:45 a.m. It is the kind of book that you will not want to put down, that during school, all you will think about is getting home so that you can continue reading. It has the whole package: adventure, action, friendship, and, of course, those beloved fairies of ours. It is the kind of book you will not be able to put down, and you will even eat with it.
I highly recommend this book for 11-15 year olds. It is a book you will love. I guarantee it.
    Enjoy!

  105. Title: the tale of Despereaux
    Author: Kate diCamillo

This book was one of my all-time favorite books when I was younger. It guided me through my first problems, joys, and sadnesses. It is the perfect book for someone who is going trough a really tough time, or a really happy tme. It is the ideal book for 9-10 year olds, with deep, sad parts and some cheesy, comical parts. This is not the kind of book you just read once for a book report or something, and then never touch it again. This is the kind of book you read once because your mother forces you, and then refuse to read any other book beause you’re too busy reading the tale of Despereaux for the 1835274527365th time. It is such an amazing book (and now a major movie) that you will never put it down. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to cry their eyes out and laugh their hearts out.

This book is good if you like sudden changes in a story and if you like magic.

  109. Title: Goose Girl
    Author: Shannon Hale

Great great book! This book has 380 pages or so so it’s pretty long. But I wish it were longer…
I read it a while back so this review might be a little fuzzy. The main character, Ani, a princess, learned to speak to birds when she was younger. To ensure the peace with their neighboring country, Ani is to marry their prince. She and a group of guards, protectors, and Ani’s lady in waiting travel through the forest for days to get to Gerhard. Little did Ani know, her princess in waiting was plotting to kill her and to pose as the princess to fulfill her dreams of being royalty. Ani survives and knows that she no one would believe her is she went straight to the king and claimed that she is the real princess so she works near the palace tending to the kings geese. She meets one of the prince’s guards and they form a bond. In the end, she becomes a heroine that swerves the country from going to war with her home country. It was great to see how Ani changed from a quiet reserved girl into a more open and brave woman. Loved the ending!

I don’t know If this is true for every copy of Goose Girl, but in the back of my copy, there were some reading group questions that made you think in depth about the book.

  110. Title: Shadow Spinner
    Author: Susan Fletcher

Great book! This book is about a ordinary girl named Marjan who helps a princess find stories to tell the Sultan. When he was younger, the Sultan was in love with a girl who later cheated on him. He started to marry any random pretty girl and killing them that very same night. Shahrazad volunteered to marry the Sultan to save the other girls from death. She planned to use the suspense of stories to convince the Sultan to let her live another night to continue the story. The princess is running out of stories so she brings Marjan to the palace to help her learn more stories. Marjan tells a story to the princess who then tells it to the Sutan. The Sutan claims that he had heard it before when he was younger and would like to hear the rest of it. The princess agrees to this. But Marjan didn’t even know there was more to the story so she must sneak out of the palace and get the rest of a story from the blind man who told it on the streets years earlier. Great book for anyone. Marjan went through interesting trials and showed great bravery in each.

Due to her relationship with her husband, she also escapes to West Berlin, leaving her Child, Stefan, behind. She soon finds out that her husband died escaping and struggles to reunite with Stephan. Great book! This book is more on the serious side, depicting a country and family divided.

  112. Title: Don’t you Dare read this, Mrs. Duhphrey
    Author: Margaret Peterson Haddix

The Book was ok. Wasn’t crazy special or anything. Maybe it’s because the book is for younger kids. Maybe 10-16 year olds. I liked the ending though.

Tish has to keep a journal for Mrs. Dunphrey’s English Class. If you don’t want her to read it, you could just put “do not read this” at the top of the entry. Tish writes that for almost all of her entries. She doesn’t want anyone to know about her father abandoning them or how her mother neglects her and her brother. When her mother leaves to find their father, She shoulders much responsibilities and tries to cope by stealing food and making minimal payments. Is there anyone Tish can can turn to?

  113. Title: Death by Latte
    Author: Linda Gerber

This book belongs to the “Death by” series. I didn’t read the first book of the series “Death by Bikini” but i still understood most of it. I liked this book a lot! There were many twists in the story line. It starts off with Aphra flying to Seattle to see her mom, who she hasn’t seen in years. Her mother used to work for the CIA and is now protecting the Mulo family from bad guys. Her boyfriend Seth Mulo comes looking for her, desperate to retrieve the ring he had given her. bla bla bla. It turns out the ring had some names engraved in it and Seth has to bring it to the bad guys if he didn’t want his captivated father to die. Great book. Crazy action. Give it a try.

  114. Whale Talk by Chris Crutcher

It is extremely funny and insightful and I recommend this book for everyone to read. One of the best books I’ve ever read.

  118. Title: Snow Flower and the Secret Fan
    Author: Lisa See

Amazing! Truely exceptional! I read this last year and just couldn’t resist reading this again. It’s an absolutely amazing novel, left me a very poweful impression. Lisa See really knows how to give the details, her writing is so beautiful. The book was truely fascinating, every detail. Very powerful and moving. It’s plot is complex but the writing is clear. I highly recommend this book to anyone. An amazing experience. I really enjoyed it, one of my favorite reads all time.

  119. Title: The Summer I Turned Pretty
    Author: Jenny Han

A great summer novel, Jenny Han really knows how to pull the reader into the moments in the book. A lovely story that shows the transition of a girl, Belly, through her summers and her relationships with two guys that’s always been there. As she merges out from her childhood and into the summer of her sweet sixteen she has to finally face the two Beck’s boys. —ocean, pool, sun, summer love, tan, friendship, family, boys.

    I really enjoyed it. Once I started, couldn’t put the book down. I recommend it to those who enjoy a not too romantice, but more like a teen crush kind of novel. Overall, it was a sweet read. I’ll have to give it a 3/5 though. Not the best I’ve read, didn’t really leave a deep impression, but it was decent. I still thought it was a wonderful book, could sorta see the end coming. Predictable. I was rooting for the other Beck brother. (;

  120. Lemony Snicket, Horseradish

Horseradish is a compilation of darkly amusing meditations on the nature of things such as home, school, and various other generally unavoidable things in life. Each section contains seven or so passages ranging from a sentence to a few pages on a looking at the main topic from a variety of angles using the same style that served Snicket well in his thirteen book series ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’. The collection is fairly cohesive and as it’s written by a local author is worth look weather you are familiar with his original series or not.

  121. Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God

Reading ‘Their Eyes Were Watching God’ began, at least for me, with the expectation of seeing the definitive independent and strong African American woman of the Harlem Renaissance depicted through literature. However, by the hundredth page of the book a somewhat harsh realization settled in; the main character, Janie, is not by any stretch of the contemporary standards of women independent. While the man she’s with changes three times, she shows no capacity for being independent or living for herself as every time she leaves one unhealthy relationship she jumps headlong into another. The book ends up being yet another cautionary tale that leads by the folly of its main character rather than presenting an example of the virtues it sets out to praise. If you feel compelled to read it, read it for the sake of being well read rather than for the strong woman Janie shows only faint glimmers of becoming.

  122. Book: I’ve got a secret by: Lara Bergen

This book was funny because many event collide together. Even though the events that happened in the book is not likely to happen in real life. Actually, it was fascinating book. But in the end, everything becomes solved. I would rate this book 3 stars of out 5.

  123. This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen

Love is so many things. It can wreck people or make them feel like they’re really alive. This Lullaby is about love with it’s ups and downs and unpredictability. Remy is a temperamental girl who scared of letting someone in to her world-her family, her thoughts and her feelings. Dexter, impulsive and lively, approaches her one day on what he calls a “challenge.” With a close-knit group of friends to advise her, she plunges into a relationship and what it means to love.

  124. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Ever hear of demon hunters? This book gives them a world of their own. After Clary sees three hunters in action one night, her life becomes intertwined with them and follows on an adventure that includes learning much about her own family. The characters have realistically different personalities and the book is full of wit and action. The storyline is original and will keep you reading until the very end. It’s a good book for people who like some mythical creatures and descriptions of pretty eyes. :) The descriptions give vivid visions of the setting and characters and is only the first in a gripping trilogy of books.

  125. Title: Haroun and the Sea of Stories
    Author: Salman Rushdie

Although this book was assigned as summer reading for school, I enjoyed this story. With a lot of word play, this fantasy book sucks you into a whole new world, where there are water genies, floating gardeners, and P2C2Es (Processes Too Complicated to Explain). But then there are also the Chupwalas, who are trying to destroy all stories in the world of Kahani. Haroun, whose dad is a storyteller, works with the Guppees to try and stop this. If you’re the type to enjoy fantasy and happy endings, this book is definitely a must-read.

  126. Title: Wolf Brother
    Author: Michelle Paver
I love this book! It is full of adventures and trials. It teaches you a lot about trust and friendship. Torak and Wolf’s relationship really touched my heart. I wish I could have a pet that’s as loyal as Wolf! Renn is also awesome! She shows that girls aren’t weak and they can sometimes be more helpful than some guys. I really hated Hord. He was such a stuck up guy.

  127. Book: So Totally Emily Ebers by: Lisa Yee

This book is so amazing! I cant stop reading this, its so fascinating thats thats why i’ve this book to write a review on.
Well if you’re the kind of person who likes to read about : adventure, romance, friendship, (best) friends, parents, trust, lies, and more, this is the right book for you. This book contains many thoughts a typical teenager could think about. I really enjoyed this book cause the author, Lisa Yee has put her shoes in the shoes of a average 13-year-old-girl who has to move across the country with her whom she blames (mostly) everything on, including divorcing her father and making her move all the way from New Jersey to California. Once she gets to her new home, a long journey starts for her. Making new friends, getting to the atmosphere, and maybe even having a crush on one of the most popular guys in the entire grade. During the whole summer she writes this book-dairy that she will send to her father at the end of the summer because her dad is busy touring the country with his band. As her long journey gradually ends, everything settles for her. She mad a new best friend whom she can now trust, and a new boyfriend she really likes, and she doesnt hate her mom anymore. She is growing up and beginning to learn many new life advice , and she just might like it there, in her new home.

  128. I barely ever read books, but when i started reading this book for the teen summer reading program, I really liked it! I usually hated books, but i could not put down or stop reading this book. it was soo interesting! i hope that they have a series for the next book. It is about two brothers and sisters and they find out that thier parents and themselves and magic powers. the new order ( BAD EVIL!!) “arresteda” them and is trying to stop their power because he is scared that thery are going to cause damage to the new world in the future. but.. yeah! u should read this book it is soo interestingg.. again! haha okay bye

  129. Title: A House Of Night Novel: Marked
Author: P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

Looking for an interesting vampire book? You’ve found it. The House of Night series gives you a unique view of vampyres. Instead of being bitten to become one, you’re marked, as if chosen by the vampyre Goddess Nyx. As you dive into this book, you’ll become to realize it’s no other ordinary, typical stereotyped vampyre book. It starts out with a sixteen year old Zoey Montgomery getting marked. But she’s no ordinary vampyre. Even after beginning to turn into a vampyre, she has the markings and power of an older vampyre. Why? Because she was specially chosen by her Goddess Nyx. Chosen to do amazing things and save her species in the end. But she doesn’t do this alone. She meets four great friends that help her as she adjusts to her new life and keep her from being roped into Aphrodite’s minion group. Along the way she meets a knight in shining armor whose too hot to keep away from.

This book is filled with romance, action, and mystery; and it’s definitely a book you won’t just toss to the side.

  130. Title: Wings
    Author: Aprilynne Pike

“Wings” is about a 15-year-old girl named Laurel who moves into a big city after being homeschooled by her parents, only to discover that she is a fairy after a mysterious flower-like wing grew from her back. The first book in a series of four novels, Laurel embarks on a journey to protect the faeries’ secret and the gates of Avalon, while figuring out her true identity in both the real world and the faeries’ world.

I really enjoyed this book, because there’s a little bit of romance and action in several parts of the novel, and there were lots of surprises throughout the story, from beginning to end. Most of the characters come from different worlds, in which most people can relate to, In fact, I would recommend the book to anyone who like fantasy novels or sci-fi novels, so if you’re looking something to read, then “Wings” is a really excellent book!

  132. As You Wish By Jackson Pearce

I hated the main character, Viola. This story is very fantasy-like, which i liked.
Other than that, the storyline is dumb. This book is okay. I wish I could have a Jinn grant wishes for me though.

  134. Title: Boys R Us
    Author: Lisi Harrison

Interested in teen drama, then this is the series for you. Boys R Us is book #12 in this series called The Clique. Five girls by the names of Massie (leader of the clique), Alicia (rich snob), Kristen (poor yet popular), Dylan ( the cute tom boy), and Claire (the newbie) go to a school called Octavian Country Day, an all girls school, where they are the center of attention 24/7. In this book these 5 friends called The Pretty Committee start to separate from one another leaving Massie friendless. She decides to buy some model actresses and form her own group of friends off of them. Alicia begins to form her own clique with a new mix of boys in it, Dylan and Kristen start to date these cute guys who Massie used to like and Claire just doesn’t know what to do. Claire wants everyone to get along, so she starts to form a plan wit the other 3 girls. At the end of this book they all reunite as a happy group of friends again.

Even though the girls may have fought along the way, they learned that their friendship is too valuable to lose, so if any of you readers out there get caught up in a fight between good friends think about how much you care for one another and learn to forgive. Losing a friend hurts so if you ever get into an argument, learn to listen to each other and get through it at least thats what I have done. =)

  135. Title: Little Brother
    Author: Cory Doctorow

I love this book! It takes place in the near future and it’s about this boy named Marcus who fights the government in his own teenage way. It goes from running from school security gates to running from the Department of Homeland Security after he’s in the wrong place at the wrong time. This book is not only for teenagers, but also for adults! I give it a 10 out of 10!

  136. Max by James Patterson is a great book. It is pretty much sci-fi adventures but has action, romance and comedy. Many people are trying to kill them but since they are mutant they can fight or escape from any danger to their lives. They meet a guy named Mr.Chu who kidnaps Max’s…… read the book to find out.

    Author: John Steinbeck

It’s a book about good and evil and everything in between. It’s about how these two concepts strive to beat the other. This book unravels many facts about human nature with characters with extreme personalities.

  140. Title: Of Mice and Men
    Author: John Steinbeck
This book is pretty interesting. A book I would recommend to read. Is not a long or short book. Is about these two men who has a same typical american dream that they will get to raise a farm later on. I not going to spoil it. You could read it and found out if their dream come truth or not. One of the man name Lennie has mental problems, but is a very nice fella. He is pretty strong, but he always kill stuff. He keeps getting in trouble so they have to keep finding ranches to work. He likes to pet nice things. The other man has to take care the other mental one. He is very nice and always help Lennie. If it wasn’t for Lennie his dream might have come true. The setting is where they were going to another ranch to work. If you find this interesting you should read it. It has many symbolism, themes, and motif. I thought this book might be boring because I have to read it for school. I found out is pretty good and Steinbeck is a good author.

  144. Title: THe Hunger Games
    Author: Suzanne Collins

This is a very good book for people who are ok with fighting and teens killing other teens. It is violent enough for boys to like it, yet romantic enough for girls. Katniss faces problems that require brains to figure out. Everyone I know who read this book loved it. A great book for anyone looking for a thrilling novel that they will not be able to put down.

  145. Title: Marked
Author: P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

Beware! This book will suck you in, into a world filled with vampyres. One who gets marked becomes a fledging vampire. They have to choose either to move into the House of Night for a better chance to live or stick with their life now where in a matter of days, they will die. A fledging has a mark on their forehead that isn’t filled in yet, only the ones that complete the change will have a filled in mark, so when Zoey enters the school, she instantly becomes unique with a filled in mark as a fledging. This book is a mixture of fantasy, romance, and friendship. Vampyres living among humans, who would have thought! Changing from a human to a vampyre causes relationship troubles for Zoey. It also causes friendship troubles, old friends lost, but new friends gained. If you loved the book Twilight, then you will surely love this book. Its both about vampires and it keeps you sucked in until the end.

  146. Title: Always and Forever
    Author: Lurlene McDaniel

Always and Forever written by Lurlene McDaniel is a book filled with friendship and tragedy. Although Lurlene McDaniel was the author of the last two books that I read, and they are all based on a teen getting diagnosed with cancer, this book had a different ending. Jory and Melissa were planning to have the best school year ever, and all of a sudden, Melissa gets struck with lymphocytic leukemia. Even though Jory’s family is rich, she can’t help out Melissa, until the end when she sets up a carnival dedicated to Melissa. It was a success. The first part of the book, Too Young to Die, is when Melissa first hears the news that she is diagnosed with cancer, and she is too young to die. The second part, Goodbye Doesn’t Mean Forever, means that although someone is gone, they aren’t truly gone, they are still inside your thoughts. This book ended perfectly with an actual closer that I agree with; I didn’t need to see if they had another book which will complete the story. It didn’t leave me wanting more information.

  147. Title: Percy Jackson and the lightening thief
    Author: Rick Riordan
Its a story about a boy named Percy Jackson, who thinks he’s an average boy but he’s actually a boy that has a big and long journey ahead of him. He’s actually a demi-god! Which is half human half demon. He soon enters into a camp called camp half bloods where he meets other demi-gods/ goddess like himself. But he doesn’t know in the beginning what his true powers are, and he certainly doesn’t know his father is part of the BIG 3. Which would be Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. There is a long and perilous journey full of betrayals and action that are to come within this book and its a awesome journey that Rick Riordan takes you on.

  148. Title: The Bride
    Author: Julie Garwood

Jamie is a the daughter of an English lord and is shocked when a Highland Laird, Alec, chooses her to be his wife. She is opposed to this marriage, as well as her father and her would-be-husband, but by the decree of the King of England and King of Scotland, they must marry. But that’s not the only thing that gets discovered, Jamie realizes that her father sold her to an English lord in order to escape debt!

  149. Title: Flight
    Author: Sherman Alexie

Flight is about an orphaned boy, Zit, who gets into trouble a lot. One day he gets locked in jail and befriends someone who tells him to rob a bank. When he tries to, Zit gets shot and he wakes up in the past. He travels through different times and ends up realizing who his father was, who abandoned him and his mother before he was born. From this, he realizes who he is and is inspired to lead a better life.

Although this book contains many swear words, I did enjoy reading it. It shows how a troubled kid decided to turn his life around by being inspired from memories. No matter how difficult his situation, he was able to create a more stable lifestyle. I would recommend this book to people who like happy endings.

  150. Book: The Fake Boyfriend
    Author: Kate Brian

I thought this book was going to be interesting so I borrowed it but as I started to read it, it was kind of boring, so I skipped ahead, then it got really interesting. Lane and Vivi have a best friend called Isabelle who has a really bad boyfriend. Isabelle is completely in love with him but he has a really bad reputation of being a bad guy. When the three of them catch him cheating on Isabelle with another classmate , Vivi hatches a plan to create a fake boyfriend for Isabelle so that she won’t be crying about him anymore. Vivi’s brother plays “Brandon,” the guy they created on MySpace–Isabelle fell in love with him. Then Isabelle wants to meet him so Vivi pays a hot guy from another school to pretend to be Brandon, but then Vivi starts to like him.
The ending is surprised me, but I did think it was a little too unrealistic. How can it all happen like that? It probably wouldn’t in real life. Interesting story though.

  151. Title: Haroun and the Sea of Stories
    Author: Salman Rushdie
This book is about a boy named Haroun, who had a father named Rashid, and a mother named Soraya. One day, Soraya was tired of Rashid’s ways, and decided to elope with another man. As a result, the father and son was devastated. Rashid stopped telling stories, and Haroun could not pay attention to anything for more than 11 minutes, due to her mother leaving them at exactly 11 o’clock. On their journey to find Rashid’s stories back, he stumbled upon a water genie, which supplies the story water for Rashid. The story goes on as Haroun and Rashid traveled to Kahani, where the sea of stories is located. Haroun struggled to helped his father get back his stories, and at the end, they ended up saving the sea of stories, which was poisoned, defeated khattam-shud, chief of the shadow world. At the end Rashid could finally tell stories again and Soraya, Haroun’s mother, came back.

  152. Stargirl
    by Jerry Spinelli

Stargirl is not a teen level book but more of a middle school read. It was an easy read but it had a very good and very deep message. The characters were very real and I was able to connect to them somehow and I was able to feel what the characters were feeling. This book made me laugh because is funny and made me want to cry because the story was so beautifully written. Stargirl is such a good book I recommend it to everyone, no matter their age.

  153. “The Dying Breath” by Alane Ferguson

This is a forensic mystery that stars Cameryn Mahoney, a 17 year-old interested in the forensic field, and is also the assistant coroner to her father (the coroner). Her ex-boyfriend, Kyle O’Neil, who’s been on the lam since he killed Brad Oakes, his teacher in a bizarre way, has reappeared. But bad news is, he’s stalking Cammie, and threatens to harm Justin, the deputy, and Cammie’s love interest. To make it even more complicated, Cammie has to tie the recent killings of famous celebrities to Kyle, before time runs out.
I thought this book was pretty interesting, but not being a true romantic, some parts of Cammie’s romance with Justin made me gag. This book is for the mystery lovers and the suspense at the end keeps you on the edge of your seats.

  154. Title: Eldest
    Author: Christopher Paolini

Eldest is the next book of the Eragon Series. It takes off right where Eragon left off, in the Varden after their first big battle with the Empire’s army. Ajihad dies and the Twin magicians and Murtgah, missing. When Ajihad dies, the Varden, the Empire’s resistance group, need a new leader, and they choose Nasuada, Ajihad’s daughter. Eragon and Saphira fly to Ellsmera, the land of the elves and begins his training as a dragon rider. Unknowingly, his teacher would be one of the dragon riders himself and his dragon, Glaedr. During that time, he goes through a ceremonal process and the dragons grant him the elve’s powers of strenthg, speed and magic. Eragon finds out that the Varden is in trouble and rushes to help Nasuada, finding that the Urgals have joined the Varden’s cause. While fighting, Eragon finds that Galbatorix, leader of the Empire, has gotten another egg to hatch. The red dragon had a dragon rider as well, who was, surprisingly, Murtgah, whom he thought had died. Eragon finds Murtgah was forced to undergo punishment from the king, and when Thorn, Murtgah’s dragon, hatched, Galbatorix forced Murtgah and his dragon to swear fealty to him. Through this battle, Eragon finds out more about his past and finds Roran, his long lost cousin. After the battle, the Varden has won, but also they have lost at the same time. For the time being, Eragon decides to help Roran find his fiance, Katrina, who has been kidnapped by the Raz’zac, birdlike creatures that eat flesh. The story continues in Brisingr, or Inheritance, the third book of the seires.

Though it wasn’t as exciting as Eragon was, it was overall an okay book. Not packed with adventure, but more of his training and the history of the Empire.

  155. Title: Kung Fu Princess: Daughter of Light
    Author: Pamela Walker
Overall it was a great book; there were ups and downs where you would wonder what the author would write next. The beginning of the book was very descriptive of what’s happening, but then in the end, I felt that the author rushed it. I didn’t feel that the author put enough effort in the ending as she started with. It did end well, like many other books and didn’t leave you hanging on what is supposed to happen after the evil villains are killed. I liked that there are Chinese myths that are incorporated into the book, so if you like historical books, but like the “fairy-tale” ending, this is the perfect book for you. I’m not going to say it was one of the best books I’ve read, but it has all the aspects of a really thought-out book; with ups, downs, family, love, and friendship.

  156. title: Creation in Death

  157. Title: Lock and Key
    Author: Sarah Dessen

Ruby is a typical teenage girl…with an unusual childhood. As a teen, her mom suddenly disappears, leaving Ruby to fend for herself. Eventually, Child Protective Services finds Ruby and brings her to her happily married older sister, who takes her in, not knowing what happened to their mother. Ruby resents not being able to take care of herself, although her sister takes good care of her. Ruby’s story is one of self-acceptance and discovery.

I enjoyed this story because some of Ruby’s struggles are identifiable with how many teens go through self-discovery and acceptance during that stage of their life. A good summer read.

  158. Title: Fairest
    Author:Gail Carsion Levine
This book is basically about this girl who was born with a beautiful voice that anyone would ever want. But that bad thing that she hates about herself was that she wasn’t pretty or at least seen normal in people’s eyes. She was buff, her hair was an ugly color to other people, and she tall like a giant. Soon she finds out a secret to the beauty of the queen of her kingdom. I recommend this book because it would really get you addicted to it once you’ve started reading it.

  159. title: Pride and Prejudice
    author: Jane Austen

Okay, I know you may be thinking, “Pride and Prejudice?! What an old book?” but I assure you that, though old, this book is amazingly marvelous and a classic. This is a romance novel, set in England a couple hundred years ago. The story of the Bennet family, the suitors they meet, and the opinions of each could not be more entertaining. Jane Austen creates a extraordinary setting in your mind, where every bit of culture is explained so you feel as if you are next to the characters, especially Miss Elizabeth Bennet, the main character in the book. I became so emotionally in love with the book and its characters that, during certain parts of the book, I even talked to the book, exclaiming my feelings for what the characters should do! (I am not crazy, I just really enjoyed the book) I recommend this book to all of my friends, and find it better than the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer (just my opinion).

Please note: the book in written in an older English, and makes references to different ways of life. My copy of the book has notes in the back, embellishing on some points in the book and explaining them.

  160. Rocky road trip

This book is the sequel to Bananasplitsville. It is about a girl who goes to college and tries to handle a long distance relationship. It turns out that it is harder then she imagined when she is distracted by her roommates, her new job at a bagel shop, and a bunch of other guys.

I did not really like this book because it was very very predictable, but I think it also had a good storyline and I did like the characters. However, other then that I don’t think i would suggest this book to anyone. Maybe that’s because i did’nt read the first book, but I still don’t believe its worth the time.

  162. Title: The Twilight Saga
    Author: Stephanie Meyer

In this romantic/sci-fi fic, reality meets paranormal when Bella Swan, a human girl meets vampire Edward Cullen. After Bella arrives at forks, her whole world completely changes forever.
She finds herself strangely connecting with Edward and ultimately falls in love with him. Along the way, she befriends Jacob Black, a local native who lives in the La Push reservation. It just so happens that werewolves and the cold ones are natural enemies, and thus Bella is forced to choose between the two opposing factions. A common threat, however, temporarily creates an alliance in which they work together to protect Bella and the people of forks. Bella finally faces her feelings for Jacob, and lets him go in order to spend the rest of her life with Edward.

  163. Title: Ruined: A Novel
    Author: Paula Morris

This book was really exciting and I had a hard time putting it down. Its about a girl named Rebecca who get sent to New Orleans to her aunt Claudia, who is supposedly the descendant of a Voodoo Queen, while her dad is in China on business. This book has its twists and turns and keeps you in the dark until the very end. I highly recommend this book. If you love mysterious and ghosts, then this is the book for you and its not the least bit scary (for those of you who can’t handle horror).

  164. Title: A Mango-Shaped Space
    Author: Wendy Mass

Mia Winchell knew something was different about her ever since the Third Grade, when no one could see the colored numbers and letters that she did. Now thirteen-years-old, Mia has learned to hide her sight from others, for that incident had left her and others skeptical of what was happening. When things start to change, Mia decides that she can’t keep her secret any longer and confesses to her parents. They begin to worry that there’s something wrong with Mia, and take her to the doctor. It is soon discovered that she has a condition called synesthesia, which is completely harmless. It turns out that there are others out there who also have the same condition too. Upon hearing this, Mia is thrilled. She isn’t a freak after all! The doctor gives her a website that devotes itself to informing synesthetes and acting as a synesthesia socializing center. Almost immediately Mia is absorbed into this, overjoyed to read about others like her and find out about their experiences. Since Mia is so involved in her newly found world of synesthesia, she begins to slip when it comes to the life she had before. Gradually Mia is distancing herself from her family and friends without realizing it. Will Mia snap out of it and remember what is really worth keeping? Pick up this book and find out!

After reading this book, I learned a lot about synesthesia, something that I never knew about before! I tend to lean towards books that are in first person, and A Mango-Shaped Space is no exception. Considering that this was Wendy Mass’s first book, I thought that the plot was well laid out and the story transitions smoothly from one situation to another. She captured what it was like being in Mia’s mindset perfectly! I would absolutely recommend this book to any reader who likes something out of the ordinary.

  168. title:Catherine, Called Birdy
    author:Karen Cushman
Catherine, Called Birdy is a book about a girl named Catherine. Catherine was a really miserable person just because she has to learn how to do all the things that all young ladies do in the time and she wants to do what the guys do instead. Like she rather wear loose clothing than to wear a dress or wanting to throw dirt around or roll around in it and not stay really clean. It takes place in the Medieval time and it is in a diary form going on about her life day by day. Her father forces her to go to a school so she can learn lady like manners. She has to learn how to hem and cook and all the other things housewives do. The two people who really come into her life is Shaggy Beard and Perkin. She wanted to marry Perkin instead of Shaggy Beard whom her father forces her to take hand in marriage. She didn’t want to marry Shaggy. Throughout this story she lived part of her life(not much) as a boy. At the end she ends up marrying Stephen who is Shaggy’s brother and to her eyes a lot handsomer. I did not like this book at all. It was very boring and I would not recommend this book to anyone unless they like reading about the Medieval Times. There also is a lot of information about Catherine that you have to remember, otherwise the story will make no sense and you will get really lost.

  169. Title : Perfect Chemistry
    Author : Simone Elkeles

This book was amazingly written. it was very realistic. i finished this book in almost one day. i just kept wanting to read more. i wished they had some kind of sequel to it. it was so sad and sweet at the same time. i was moved to tears at one point.): the guy is really sweet. it made me wonder if there were actually guys like that out there. he was really nice to the girl’s mentally disabled sister. i thought it was so interesting because of the badboy rebel and little good girl cheerleader got together. yes, it seems like a typical high school romance story, but it’s much more than that. you can totally imagine yourself there watching all these events from the book happening in front of your eyes. amazingg~ if theres ever a sequel in the future, i’ll be sure to get my hands on it. if you enjoy high school romance, you’ll absolutely love this book :D

(:

  174. Title: Nightlight
    Author: The Harvard Lampoon

This book is basically a parody of Twilight. There is Belle Goose and Edwart Mullen. She is obsessed with this guy ad the idea of him being a vampire. It is the like the first book of the Saga and it is really funny because it has the same people but everything sort of is switched. I recomend this book because it funny

  175. Name of my book is <>.
Just a little background of New Mexico’s history and you will be ready to understand why the connection of the people to the land is different from those of other Native Indians. ‘So far from God’ shows how having moved away from the land of their ancestors, people fail to connect to it in the same way as their predecessors.
Although it deals with serious issues, it does not fail to make you laugh out loud when weird things happen to Sofi’s children and she’s still one piece. And all this when you thought you were beginning to feel pity for Sofi beset with troubles for children.

  176. My book is <>.
This story opens as 13-year-old Eva wakes up in a hospital bed to find that she has been seriously injured in a car crash and has been in a coma for months. As she slowly regains consciousness, she experiences strange sensations and dreams until she learns that her life has been saved with an unprecedented medical procedure in which her memories have been implanted into the brain and body of a chimpanzee. Eva is set in the future, in a dystopian urban world in which humans have destroyed most of the world and are isolated in super high rises and fed a steady stream of television. Eva’s father is a researcher of captive, habituated chimps with whom Eva was essentially raised. Eva’s operation and recovery were sponsored by a manufacturer of juice products, who contractually own her and exploit her to advertise their products. As she recovers and adjusts to her new life, she begins to identify with the chimp part of herself and relates to the other chimps, leading her to resist her handlers and her parents and campaign for greater autonomy for herself and her fellow chimps. Eva eventually becomes the poster child for animal rights activists and a figure to whom many people look as an inspiration as the human race is degenerating. Eventually, like her Biblical namesake, Eva is sent to an Edenic paradise with a troop of chimps to teach them to live in the wild and be televised worldwide for the entertainment of humans. As events transpire, Eva and her troop are left possibly to repopulate the planet and begin the evolution of the human race again. The story raises all kinds of existential questions about what makes us who we are, what is our relationship with animals, and what are our responsibilities to nature and the environment. These thought-provoking themes are balanced by suspenseful action and well-developed characters (including the chimps). With the highly introspective nature of this story and the slow and mysterious revelation of the plot, this is a challenging read. Eva is a terrific book for adolescents asking their own big questions and learning how to find their own opinions and voices.
Here I recommend this book to everyone. Because this book was written in 1897. The auther was very good to imagine the future of technoledge. It’s very good, but it’s not easy to read.

  177. Title: Eragon
    Author: Christopher Paolini

This book is about a 15 year old boy, Eragon, who finds an egg in the Spine, a forbidden forest, while hunting and brings it home to Carvahall. First he thinks it’s a stone, but when a dragon hatches out of it, he finds out it’s an egg. The Empire, ruled by a dictative king Galbatorix, hears word of this and sends the Ra’ zac to Carvahall to find the missing egg. They kill his Uncle and Eragon and Brom, his ‘mentor’ is sent on the race of their lives. Throughout their journey, they face various obstacles and travel to the Varden. On his way, Eragon learns how to sword fight, fight with magic, as well as ride Saphira, his dragon. Over halfway through his journey, Brom dies protecting Eragon, the promise of the people of the Empire and the Varden, a resistance to the King. After Brom dies, he meets Murtgah, saves an elf and go to the Varden. There, they fight a mighty battle that decides where Eragon stands in the battle field. The Varden is victorious and the Eragon and Saphira become heroes.
The story continues in the next book, Eldest.

  182. Not Me, by Michael Lavigne, is a must read for all teens and young adults. It’s words can truly express emotions that can be felt by the reader.
Michael’s life is already bad enough as it is- his mother and sister died, a divorce with his wife, his relationships with his son is getting worse and worse- and now he has to take care of his elderly father who has Alzheimer’s disease.
Michael receives a mystery box of journals from his father one day, his father doesn’t remember where they came from and no one else seems to know. But Michael’s father, Heshel, insists that Michael reads them. The last thing Michael would want to do is learn more about his father, but since this is his wish Michael will have to read no matter how much he hates it. “All right, I said to myself, but in his voice—Heshel Rosenheim, you want I should read your diary, I’ll read your goddamned diary.”(11)
The first entries were of no interest to Michael; they were just mostly about his father’s religious beliefs and Michael’s little sister, Karen. But soon, the entries that Michael came across seemed like a novel. A novel about the terrible memories of a German S.S. who took the identity of a victim. As we can see, Heinrich took the identity of Heshel so the British wouldn’t punish him. “When the day approached and many of the Germans fled, only, he assumed, to be caught and hanged, he instead shaved his head, exchanged his uniform for the rags—which he carefully deloused—of a dead prisoner, rolled himself in the mud, and waited.”(34) And from that day on Heinrich Mueller had disappeared off the face of the earth.
Since this was all written in a novel form, Michael was skeptical of whether or not it was true. Michael remembered that his father would do everything that a true Jew did—eat what Jews ate, prayed like Jews, and celebrated Jewish holidays. Michael even remembers how his father hated the German language. How could Michael find out the truth? Asking his father was pretty much hopeless because half of the time he doesn’t even know what his father is talking about anymore. The nurses at the nursing home wouldn’t tell Michael anything about his father’s visitors, so Michael decided to hide in the nursing home and stalk his father’s visitors. Things start to get even more confusing when Michael’s father starts mentioning a person named Frau Hellman, and when the Holocaust Archives sends Michael a letter. And who exactly is that lady following Michael around at Starbuck’s?
Even though Lavigne isn’t a holocaust survivor, nor are his parents, it is amazing how he can grasp that feeling. The readers can see the Holocaust through another perspective; through the eyes of a S.S. who later changed. As I was reading this, it seemed more like a memoir than a novel. All of the events seem realistic enough. Through out the book, Lavigne switches back and forth between Heshel’s story and Michael’s story. But because it is so well written, it doesn’t cause any confusion, and it doesn’t mess up the flow. I think everyone should read this book, but because it mentions some “mature material”, I think it’s more appropriate for older teens.

  183. Title:Holes
    Author:Louis Schtachar
This is the story about a young boy ho is sent to camp. Not like any other camp but a camp for bad boys. He is sent to dig holes in the burning hot desert sun. He was blamed for stealing shoes from a major sports star. This is a great ook to read during the summer

  184. Title: The Boy Who Reversed Himself
    Author: William Sleator

This book is a brilliant sci-fi short novel that is educational, exciting, suspenseful, and emotional all at the same time. Omar can travel to the fourth dimension, and he eventually gets himself into a fix when he takes a normal girl from school into the fourth dimension with him and they get lost. Sleator’s fast-paced adventure gives much insight into the idea of a fourth dimension of space (not time).

  185. Title: Banner in the Sky
    Author: James Ramsey Ullman

This book is amazing and inspirational. Based on a true story, it tells the story of a 16-year-old boy who longs to climb the Citadel but is not allowed to because his father met his death trying to conquer the mountain. The entire story is suspenseful and exciting, but at the same time very realistic. Ullman includes many details about mountain climbing and culture. Banner in the Sky is my favorite book and I would recommend it to anyone fourth grade through adult. It’s one of those books that gains meaning when you reread it years later, from a new perspective.

  186. The introduction of this story is unique as it doesn’t start in a typical fairytale format. The story starts off with Merle and a blind girl Junipa riding on a gondola in Venice on their way to become a Mirror Maker’s apprentices. They pass by mermaids whose mouths are split from ear to ear and have razor sharp teeth like sharks. They find scary and mighty stone lions with guards on their backs patrolling the streets. They both awe and shiver as they make their way to their destination. When they reach their destination, they are welcomed by a woman with a bottom half mask. They are fed and go straight to sleep. Suddenly, Merle hears a noise. She gets out of bed and finds that Junipa is missing. She quietly walks out of her room and follows the soft sounds coming out from a door. She opens the door slightly and sees Arcimboldo, the Mirror Maker, slip two small mirrors into the eyes of Junipa. She watches with horror and shouts out a question demanding what Arcimboldo did to Junipa. He explains that he put mirrors in Junipa’s eyes so that she could see. “Look in a mirror, and it will look back at you. That is the first lesson in my workshop, Merle. Mark it well. Mirrors can see.” Merle thinks to herself: now that Junipa could see, her life would be so different. During their first night with the Mirror Maker, a wonder miracle had happened! Junipa’s eyes turned from pearly blank eyes to cold silvery mirrors. After that miracle, more and more extraordinary things happen in this book. If you want to find out, you have to read it.

he genre of this book is fantasy, mystery and fiction. This book isn’t very hard to read although sometimes, you have to stop and think. The author adds a lot of detail when writing about his characters and sceneries, which makes a very easy vivid picture in my mind. I would recommend this book to people who love mystery, fantasy and also a confusing ending in which would make you ponder…

  187. Title:The tales of beedle the bard
    Author: J.K Rowling

I like this book because it helps me understand some of the storys that are linked to jk rowling”s
harry potter books.i especially like two storys from it. one, is “the warlocks hairy heart” and two,”the tale of two brothers”. the second story is actually the story of the deathly hallows which is what the last book in the harry potter series is practically based on. I absolutley love the book!

  188. Title: Host
    Author: Stephanie Meyer
    Genre: Scienice Fiction/Romance

From the author who created twilight, this is a must read for either fans of the author or sci-fi fans. Host is based in the distant future when parasitic aliens have taken over the world and humans tried to fight back while living in hiding. The novel is written in first person narrative, not unlike Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series, so that as you read along the novel, you would be seeing the world of Host through the eyes of the protagonist. As you read along the novel, it makes you keep on reading until the ending, and leaves you wanting more with a completely satisfactory ending. This novel makes non-sci-fi fans want to read it and love it, just think of the terminator movies and you will get the plot of this novel. Meyer say that Host is to convey “what a gift it is to just have a body, and really love it.” as the main aspect of this novel.

  189. Title: Leviathan
    Author: Scott Westerfeld
    Genre: Historical Fiction

This was an amazing book. It was a mix of the past and the future (steampunk) since it is a retelling of WWI in a futuristic way. Scott Westerfeld (author of the “Uglies” series, and “So Yesterday”) does a wonderful job of giving one side futuristic machines and their rivals living “beasties” that they fabricated through DNA. The story follows Prince Aleksandar, Alek for short on the one hand, and Deryn Sharp, a girl pretending to be a boy (named Dylan) so she can be in the navy on the other. These two cross paths despite the fact that they are on opposite sides of the war, and create an alliance that saves their lives. This is an amazing book (as I have said) and I suggest it as a good read!

  190. Title: The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao
    Author: Junot Diaz

I really enjoyed this novel because it reminds me of my family and culture originally from the Dominican Republic but residing in the East Coast. There were so many sections in this novel where I would say, “Yes I can totally relate!” This book is about a friendly but miserably overweight boy who is referred to as a ghetto nerd. This Dominican genius, Oscar Cabral, also had a yearning for love and romance. But according to Oscar, he and his family are cursed by what is called a fukú. No matter where they go, the U.S or their home town, this familia Dominicana can’t shake off this horrific curse. Although this novel is tragic it brings, originality and validity to this new day.

  191. Sold, by Patricia McCormick, is a poignant book. Thirteen-year-old Lakshmi, though poor, is happy with her life in Nepal. After a terrible monsoon, all is lost, and her stepfather insists on her taking a job in the city, as a maid. “Auntie” takes her to the city where everything is different, even the language, and soon Lakshmi finds that she has been sold into a life of sexual slavery. She makes friends that help her through the hardships of brothel life, one that seems inescapable, and then one day, she is given a chance

  192. Title: Of Mice and Men
    Author: John Steinbeck

This book depicts two friends, George and Lennie. Lennie is a big softy and tends to get into trouble when he isn’t told what to do. George looks after him and they cherish their friendship. Lennie always asks George to tell him these dreams they have for themselves after they earn a stake working in a ranch. As the story progresses, George’s commitment to keep Lennie safe begins to weaken as Lennie gets into more trouble. I thought this book was really sweet because Lennie is such a child and he likes petting soft things, but at the end I was pretty shocked at what George did. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good book and it was fast to read, I would recommend it to others :) .

  193. title:new moon
    author: Stephanie Meyer

Im not really a fan of the twilight series, but of all the books in the series i really like New Moon.Because it really shows more of the relationship between Bella and her best friend Jacob Black. I really like this book because it shows friendship and bella’s ability to cope without edward.

  194. Title: The Diary of Anne Frank
    Author: Anne Frank
This book, written in a diary format, is about a Jewish girl named Anne Frank who turned from an optimistic to a lonely, sad girl who had to hide due to the tragic event known as the Holocaust. Throughout her diary, Anne Frank demonstrated how she changed from a innocent girl to a young woman. Apart from the rest of the world, Anne Frank had to live in a cramped building with another family. Each day, they had to live with fear, fear of running out of food, fear of getting caught and send to concentration camp, where they will tortured to dead. It is amazing to see how Anne Frank managed to stay calm and still had the ability to write on her diary. At the end, it was a grievous ending. Anne Frank and her family along with the other family were caught and sent to the camp, where Anne Frank died of Typhus, a fatal illness. All the other family members, except her father, who survived and later, was able to publish her diary. This is an inspiring book and I would recommend it to my friends, hopefully you find it interesting too.

  195. Title: Girlology
Author: Melisa Holmes, M.D. & Trish Hutchison, M.D.
This book fulfilled with facts and accurate information about things that girls go through as teenagers. It gives the reader a clear understanding of how it feels like to become a young adult, and in fact, the book itself is like talking directly to the reader. It did a wonderful job in terms of explaining different worries teenagers have, and providing enough good advices for the reader. For those who afraid to discuss their private concerns with their parents or trusted adults, this is a great book where you will, hopefully, find the answers to your questions without having to go through awkward moments. Go Girl Power!

  196. Title: Princess Forever
    Author: Meg Cabot
Mia, no longer the princess of Genovia, must question her relationship with her current boyfriend, JP. She soon discovers that he dated her for fame, just so that he will be able to become a producer. During this time, her ex-boyfriend, Michael, comes back. She can’t resist her love for him, and she discovers true love.

  197. Title: Twenties GIrl
    Author: Sophie Kinsella
This book is about a girl being visited by her great aunt, but as a ghost form. Her aunt died at the age of 105, and her ghost comes back at the age of 21. The ghost asks her to help her find this special necklace that made her feel beautiful. After going through a lot of trouble, she discovers the secret behind the success of her uncle. She finds love and passion with the help of her aunt.

  198. Title: Monster Blood Tattoos: Lamplighter
    Author: D. M. Cornish

In the world of the Half-Continent, savage and hideous monsters roam freely, only being stopped by monster hunters. Most of these monster hunters are lahzars, or people who are surgically changed to either be a wit or a fruglar. A wit is one who can create “fissions” and have a monster be destroyed on the inside, while a fruglar has the power to call upon lightening and electricity to electrocute their enemies. Continuing where book one left off, Rossamund Bookchild, a former orphan, begins his long awaited job as a lamplighter. His life as a lighter isn’t what he expected it to be, when an unexpected girl comes to be the first female lighter. Both of them face the untold perils of the Half-Continent and meet old and new friends, not to mention foes. I would go on, but to tell you more would spoil the book, and you have to read it to find out what happens next. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading fantasy and fiction. D. M. Cornish has created a world similar to our own, but he has devised it so that it is as if the Half-Continent is an alternate world altogether! Things aren’t as they seem to be in this book, and the story itself differs greatly from your everyday fairytale. If you’re ready for action, suspense, and some heart jolting chapters, read this book and you’ll know what I mean.

  206. Title: Lord of the Flies

This book portrayed the social hierarchy of humans with no order and boundaries. During the war, an airplane crashes down leaving a huge scare on an island. Survival is very difficult on an island of the unknown. The worst part of it is, no adults are present. Ralph, is the chief in command. The group of kids attempted to create rules though, almsot immediately, no one followed through. Piggy, one fellow who understood how the civilized must act helped Ralph assemble the rule. Piggy, above all people understood the importance of rules and how without them, there will be chaos. Though, no one followed it except for Ralph and Simon. Food was scarce and many people’s good judgment have taken a toll. Soon, the group began to shrink. People were dying because of rebels. These rebels were hunting and letting nothing get in their way. They have lost all human thoughts and killed people. This book was full of intense scenes filled with profound morals.

  207. “The Nature of Jade” by Deb Caletti is an awesome book. It tells the story of a eighteen-year old girl named Jade DeLuna who found out a few years ago she has a type of panic disorder. Since then, she has learned to control her panic attacks with simple things such as cough drops, watching the elephants at the zoo near her house, and candles. Through the webcam in her room on her computer, she watches the elephants.
But then one day, she sees a boy about her age with a red jacket and a baby, about two years old. He comes almost everyday, the same time, just to watch the elephants. 208. Title: The Ashleys
    Author: Melissa de la Cruz

This is the first book in the Ashleys series and it’s about an innocent girl named Lauren Page who completely changes her appearance and attitude to try to fit in with the Ashleys despite the fact that she was bullied by them throughout her school years. The Ashleys are a group of girls who are all named, you guessed it, Ashley and basically rule Miss Gamble’s Preparatory School for Girls. They decide what’s hot and what’s not, who’s in and who’s out and everyone wants to be them. Her main intention is to fit in with them in order to crush them, but in the end, she starts questioning her actions, the good and bad. I definitely recommend this book to girls who love fashion/drama because its clever, suspenseful plot will leave you wanting more.

  209. Book Title: Dragon Sword and Wind Child
Author: Noriko Ogiwara (Translated by Cathy Hirano)

The book ‘Dragon Sword and Wind Child’ by Noriko is about a young girl who is fated to be caught up in a war between God of Light and the Goddess of Darkness. Saya, the girl, met a band of fake musicians before the Kagai (a ceremony of love), and was accused of being the reincarnated Water Maiden; they gave her a magatama, a stone of the Water Maiden. During the Kagai, she agreed to follow Prince Tsukishiro, an immortal and a son of the God of Light, to his palace, where she would become his handmaiden. She met Tsukishiro’s sister, Princess Teruhi, another immortal and daughter of the God of Light. Teruhi wanted to kill Saya for being of the Darkness people, while Tsukishiro wished to marry her. Later on, as the story progresses, the immortals’ plans unfold, Saya’s friends aid her in seeking how to end the war, and free the third child of the God of Light, Chihaya. The book hints at a subtle romance in the crossfires of war, and how both survive, bringing peace to both the God and Goddess, who loved each other all along.

The story was very captivating. It is probably set in a mythical world of Japan, though some places may be real. This book contains subtle relationships/love triangles and is a page-turner. If you put down this book unfinished, you will itch to pick it back up. The details of love, war, hate, and difference are vividly written, and adventures our main character take might make your heart pound with hers. I would recommend this book to those who love stories that do not entirely revolve around love only, but the sense of adventure, loss, and another entirely different world.

  210. This book The Child Called It is a book about a young boy who got beaten in many different ways by his mother. His mother was an alcoholic who treated him horribly. Throughout everything the mother did to him, he still survived with many scars and bruises left. He was afraid to tell the police or teachers/staff about his relationship with his mother because he never knew what nasty thing his mother would come up with if she got a call home from someone he told. He finally got the freedom that he always dreamed of having and never got to or wanted to see his mother again.

  213. The book Marie Curie – Giants of Science, by Kathleen Krull is a fascinating book, giving a full and interesting description of Marie Curie’s life, not merely as a scientist, but also as a woman with feelings of love and compassion beneath her exterior of cold and straightforward. It depicts her life as a mother too, expressing her attitude towards her children, but above all, her devotion to science and learning. A pretty unbalanced life, Marie figured that work was the most important thing in life, as it gave her a goal to look forward to, but also gave her a safe haven when depressions hit her. An interesting book and highly controversial, Marie’s life was a great success for all that she set out to do, however it was a failure at the other important aspects of a genuinely balanced life.

  221. Title: Dreamland
    Author: Sarah Dessen

This is the book I got from Goodwill because I was browsing along the book section with my friends and came across a Sarah Dessen book. To be honest, in the beginning it was quite boring. Not going to lie about that. But when conflict starts to show, it is really quite good. But you might not realize what the true conflict really is until you’ve read it. Her book, another loose end for us to imagine for whatever we want at the end. The book brought tears to my eyes at one point. Very dramatic book and a very teen book. I would recommend it to my friends. Warning: May bore you to death if you don’t have the patient to finish it; or at least get to the conflict.

  227. Title: Hold Your Water! 68 Things You Need to Know to Keep Our Planet Blue

    Author: Wyland (with Steve Creech)

Hold Your Water! at first felt like it would give me no reaction because it is an informational book (I know that’s a bad thing to say), but after reading it I see how critical our water conservation situation is. The book is written in an easy form, each page filled with 3-4 small quotes, comments, tips and facts. I feel kind of ashamed that I waste so much water what with showers, toilet flushing and dumping waste in storm drains. I have been encouraged to make people more aware of little water we do have and because of the increase in the human population how there is many water shortages. Hold Your Water! is written in a friendly and informative tone, giving you the facts but keeping the mood and tone of the information playful and direct making it a light and easy read. It seems like it was made for people of a younger age but it’s facts and tips make it readable for all ages. The book is divided into 5 parts which allows you the freedom of jumping around, but still getting every fact. I urge more people to read this book and become more aware, our earth is suffering and Wyland gives you more than enough information to encourage you to help.

  230. Title: The Sorceress {The Secrets Of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel}

    Author: Michael Scott

Being the third book in the series, the sorceress explodes into the hands of millions of readers engaging them in its pages well past bedtime. To fully understand the explanation you should read books one and two (the alchemyst, the magician) the both of which i highly recommend. OK, to the point.. the book is about Sophie and Josh, the twins of legend, who must decide between “good” and “bad” in their fight to keep the human race in existence. In the Alchemyst, you learn how the twins end up with the Flamels, you meet the Dee, you meet monsters and worse. in the second book, the magician, you learn secrets about the Flamels that should have stayed secrets, and around every page is another action packed scene. in book three, the Sorceress, more secrets are unveiled, the world is about to fall apart, and Sophie and Josh have to pick their sides. by the end of the book you’ll be clamoring for the next one.

  231. Title: Confessions of Madame Phyche

    Author: Dorothy Bryant

Confessions of Madame Phyche is a powerful story of a child who “predicted” the great earthquake of 1906. This story is a re-written autobiography and will encourage you to open your mind and be more empathetic. Mei-Li Murrow (Madame Phyche), welcomes you on her journey as a fake phychic fooling the broken hearted, an adventurist trying for a new way of life, a mother, a worker in the Southern California canneries and so forth. This book gave me better insight on the hard times of the early 1900s and the serious issue of poverty and racial discrimination. This story also lets you see the ignorance of some of the American people in the beginning of World War 2, and their attitudes after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Dorothy Bryant helps you embark on the long road of exploration with Mei-Li Murrow, finding her inner peace and following the seducing beckons of her own higher power. In reading this book, I stepped out of my own box leaving behind the easier reads of many teen books. I loved this book, she was a beautiful person who became more radiant in every difficult situation.

    Author:June Cotner
This book is a poem book about relatioships, comfort, encouragement, spirituality, love, and much more. To me it open me eyes to a whole new world and it is very spiritual. I really enjoyed it and it gives great advise if you need it. It is also written by real teenagers. The book to me has a bit of christian in it too. Like it says in the front cover and some are my words. Words for the Heart and Soul will make you feel good and will make you think twice.

  238. Title: Crank
    Author: Ellen Hopkins

I picked up this novel at my public library because it was on my summer reading list for school. When I read the back cover, I was extremely surprised that this had been included on the list, but excited. This story is a very dark one. It’s written in verse, so it’s a quick read that I read in about 5 hours. It’s about a girl, Katherine, struggling with an addiction to Crank, as indicated by the title. Along the way, she accumulates an opposite side of her that she names Bree, a few boyfriends, and several problems that could seriously damage her life. You need to be strong to read this book. It’s very heavy and deals with a lot of very serious issues that, sadly, many teen girls go through. It is based upon a true story. The only thing about this book that I would advise you about is the way it is written. It’s very confusing, and took me about 100 pages (out of about 500) to get used to it, and fully understand what was happening. However, it’s worth the push. I would strongly recommend checking out “Crank” by Ellen Hopkins…. If you think you’re up for it.

  239. Title: Lock and Key
    Author: Sarah Dessen

My fourth book by this author. I have to say this wasn’t my favorite, but it was close. I really liked the book. I always disliked her endings… I like the book overall but the ending… is never the best as it could be – in my perspective. It’s always a loose tie. So many things can go on! But that might be the reason why she does it. It was worth my 9 dollars. It kept me entertained endless hours at night when I’m suppose to be “sleeping”. The story gets intense at some moments. But the whole book is pretty intense itself. Very emotional book that deals with emotional problems. Recommend it to a friend? YES.

  240. Title: The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner
    Author: Stephenie Meyer

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is written in the pespective of newborn vampire Bree Tanner. Bree was created by Victoria, the vampire trying to kill Bella Swan. This book shows you what the Cullens would look like to you if you were a normal vampire(and sadly misinformed about many things). Even though this book is only 180 pages long Stephenie Meyer still finds room for all of the detail that makes the reader really understand how an event would look if it were real life.
I highly recomend this book if you have already read the rest of the Twilight Saga. If you haven’t then I think that you should read them before The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner.

  241. Title: The Soul of a Horse: Life Lessons from the Herd
    Author: Joe Camp

This book did what the book jacket said it would try to do: take the reader into the heart and soul of a horse. The author also proposes a style of horse keeping that many people today would consider alternative or strange, but he shows that it yields favorable results: happy, healthy horses that trust their caretakers. The book teaches many lessons that we can all learn from, my favorite being that “love is the gift of oneself.” I highly recommend this book to anyone, not just horse lovers, because it really is an amazing book you can’t put down.

  242. Title: A Child Called “It”
    By: Dave Pelzer

The book really sums up how child abuse can be. Like how a calming parent suddenly becomes a child abuser. Dave Pelzer tells about how his childhood was like, with abuse from his mom and how he overcomes the obstacles with just hope and perseverance.

  243. TItle: Of Mice and Men
    Author: John Steinbeck

This book tells about two guys looking for a job as a laborer. One was named Lennie. He’s a big guy who usually doesn’t have a clue about what’s going on and likes to pet things. He has the mind of a young child. His best friend, George, is small, quick, and clever. He likes to do things fast and is strict towards Lennie. But his trust fades away from Lennie as he begins to do things that aren’t right, and foolish. He begins to act like his friends in the Salinas Valley after they got the job and got used to the place. This is a suspense story, but pretty short. Young readers should read this book, and it is a required book in some high schools for summer reading. Enjoy!

  244. Title: Next Semester
    Author: Cecil R. Cross II

I actually had the sequel of the book “First Semester” by the same author. This book was as interesting as the last book. The best part of the book was that it didnt have a typical romantic novel ending. I dont want to spoil the ending of the book for y’all!! James Dawson “JD” continues his second semester of his freshmen year of college. He is on academic probation so he has to prove that he’s above that by getting at least a 2.5 GPA. the book has a lot of twists and turns which makes you want to not leave the book. it was actually better than “First Semester”. I wish that it would continue. It makes me curious to think what he did after.

i would recommend that people would read the Kimani TRU series. They are about African American/ Black teenagers and they give you an insight of the live of their culture. I hope the author listens to my request!!

  245. 6 million paper clips is a really interesting book about the Holocaust. It is about a school in Whitwell Tennessee that wants to learn more about the Holocaust. They realize that 6 million Jews died in the Holocaust and collect 6 million paper clips. I would recomend this book to readers that enjoy nonfiction and history. This book tells a really neat story and also gives you more info on the holocaust.

  246. I think that the Percy Jackson series is a good pick for a lot of teens. I think the suspense satisfies many and makes you want to keep reading. You never know what kind of choice Percy is going to make or where the author will take you. Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is a book for those who like a book filled with action. The reader also has to enjoy mythology though. This book was neat for me, because I just studied greek mythology and I like that this book provides that information with a twist of fiction. I would strongly recomend the Percy Jackson series to many teens out there.

  247. Title: Hold Your Water! 68 Things You Need to Know to Keep Our Planet Blue
    Author: Wyland

This book provides a lot of helpful information about how we can all work together to clean and conserve water. The book also offers easy ways for people to help preserve water and other related precious resources. It Divided into more than 30 sections, and shows how everyday activities such as car washing, showering, fertilizing-even ‘pet poop’ cleanup-can negatively impact the environment. We all have developed the bad habit of letting the faucet run while wait for the shower to warm up, while we brush our teeth, or while wait for a cold glass of water. Keeping a pitcher of water in the refrigerator or turning the faucet off while we brush our teeth can save several gallons of water each day. This book is serious, but surprisingly upbeat. The book simplify complicated environmental issues. It also make it easy to see how each of us can make a difference. This book also emphasizes the fact that this book is not only speaks about water in terms of its usefulness to people, but also recognizes that water is the main habitat for many of the earth’s plants and animals.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who concern about water because water is very important to all living things on earth. Can you imagine without water on Earth? How would you survive? So, Everyone should read this book and take it seriously about water.I believe If we all work together to conserve water, we can make the earth a beautiful and peaceful place to live.

  248. Title: Twilight
    Author: Stephenie Mayer

This book is perfect for any vampire lover if you haven’t read it yet. It talks about a young human girl named Bella, and she falls in love with a vampire. Pretty cliche huh? Everything else pretty much is pretty much downhill from there. This novel consists of romance, action, and personally I’d say comedy. It’s not the best vampire book written, but now I think it’s safe to say it’s one of the most popular.

  249. Title: Will Greyson, Will Greyson
Author: John Green and David Levithan

-Warning: Book contains explicit language; this review does not -

This book follows the lives of two teenagers both by the name of Will Greyson who, although their names are the same, live in entirely different lives shaped mainly by their peers and parents throughout the story. The book is written in althernating chapters where John Green has written all of the Odd chapters in the perspective of one Will Greyson and David Levithan has written all of the Even Chapters in the perspective of the other Will Greyson. In the story both Will Greysons have to wrestle with the challenge that everyone must inevtiably face – figuring out life and sorting out who they are while having to deal with school and all the problems that it encompasses. However, whether or not this is a helpful or detrimental factor in their lives (which you will find out by reading the book), they also have a very large boy by the name of Tiny Cooper in their lives.
I would recommend this book to anyone, preferably in high school or up, because not only is it an interesting book to read because of how close John Green and David Levithan are to a teenager’s perspective (in my opinion), but also because it’s just well written and well crafted.
I would also recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of “Catcher in the Rye” Written by J.D. Salinger (who died this year; RIP), because it is in the same kind of perspective and also has the same effect- it makes you look either at others more deeply or makes you look at a side of yourself that often times is hard, but that’s what books are for.

  250. Title: First Semester
    Author: Cecil R. Cross II

This book is about a boy who lives in Oakland and wants to leave all of that because he cant face it anymore. He gets that oppurtunity when he is accepted in the University of Atlanta. When he starts his college life there everything seems too good to be true, but in his first semester he is on an academic probation. The story has a lot of twists and turns, which makes the book interesting. You always want to know what’s going to happen next. This book is part of the Kimani TRU series, which is about the experiences of young African American/ Black teenagers. It was a great book to read and hopefully the next book “Next Semester” will have the same interesting twists and turns as the first.

  251. Title: My Wicked Wicked Ways
    Author: Sandra Cisneros

“This is my father. See? He is young… Here is my mother. She is not crying… This is me she is carrying. I am a baby. She does not know / I will turn out bad.” Sandra Cisneros, the author of “The House on Mango Street”, has made a very cool poem book everyone will love. Varying from love to regret, to worldwide adventure to local ones, “My Wicked Wicked Ways” is one of the best poem book (and poem) I’ve read so far. This is my first time reading a book from Sandra Cisneros and is looking forward to reading her books this Summer. I personally would recommend this book to all my friends.

  252. Title: Cosmic
    Author: Cotrell Boyce

Cosmic is the book everyone would love to read, especially the youngsters who can’t wait to be a grown-up already. This is a story about Liam Digsby, an eleven-year-old whose already growing beard and body hair despite his age, is (just like everybody else) a Warcraft Game addict. “That’s Cosmic!” he would often gnarl whenever a cool or a surprising thing would occur. Liam, who pretended to be in his 30′s along with his friend Florida Kirby, his so-called daughter, and many other kids who’ve won the DraxWorld Communication has been set off to Outerspace. And that’s just the beginning.

At first, when I was browsing through Proof books at the Main Public Library, I’ve have had the doubt not to buy “Cosmic” because of it’s cover, but as I was reading it at home, I thought to myself, “Seriously. Don’t judge the book by its’ cover!”

  253. Title: Witch and Wizard
    Author: James Patterson

Witch and Wizard is a story about two teen sibling, Wisty and Whit Allgood, who’ve been held captive by The One due to being a threat to the New Order, a new form of government. Wisty, a fifteen-year-old Witch who has different variety of powers she later on discovered as her adventure continues, teams up with her brother Whit, a football Quarter Back who has invincible power, to find their fugitive parents. The story and the plot is so engaging that you’re not gonna wanna put the book down. I’m a big fan of James Patterson, I’ve read the whole series of Maximum Ride; so, if you’re one big fan of the Sci-Fi boss himself, Witch and Wizard is one good book for you to read this Summer!

  254. Title: Tuesdays with Morrie
    Author: Mitch Albom

Tuesdays with Morrie is about a man who has drifted off from life. He found himself basing his life on deadlines he sets for himself, ignoring the people he loved, and a little lost until he visits his old professor who is dying. Slowly, his professor, Morrie Schwartz, helps Mitch find himself again. Through Morrie, he learns about the meaning of life.
-This book is compelling and new. Every page brings you to a new level of enlightenment. If you read this book, I guarantee you will be amazed by the insight Morrie has that a lot of other people don’t seem to have. You will be grateful that there is such a man in the human race, because that’ll mean that there are people with such generosity and wisdom. I loved this book from the beginning to the end.

  255. From the Ortega “Great Teen Book Swap” archive –

    by Marley Gibson

“An impressively great book with many twists!!!! … Marley Gibson deserves an award! Full of suspense and twists and many, many suprises, makes this the ULTIMATE book! Praise for Ghost Huntress adn Marley Gibson!

  256. Sample Book Review:

Title: Daughters of the moon #9: the choice
    Author: Lynne Ewing

This book is about the daughters of the moon, five goddesses who protected humans from the evil Atrox and its followers. The Choice is the 9th book in the series and is the book in which, Jimena must decide if she remains on earth without her goddess powers or becomes a spirit retaining her original powers. This novel also ties in many myths including Pandora, Medusa, Athena, and Selene. I really enjoyed the characters in this book because they all came from different backgrounds but work together to save the world from evil time and time again. I would recommend this book to my friend because it ties in myths and our current life and the girls’ trials, outside of the Atrox, are similar to things that every other teenage girl goes through. This novel is really good in that everybody can relate to at least one of the 5 main characters.
