    Fifth Annual Poetry Inside Out Spring Reading - Students participating in the Center for Art in Translation's Poetry Inside Out (PIO) program will recite poems in Spanish and Chinese by world-famous poets including Pablo Neruda and Du Fu, followed by their translations of those poems. They will also perform their own works in the original language and in translation.

    Hands-on Illustration Workshop by Carl Angel - San Francisco artist/illustrator Carl Angel talks about creating art for books such as Lakas and the Manilatown Fish/Si Lakas at ang Isdang Manilatown, Xochiti and the Flowers, Willie Wins and others, and leads a hands-on art project. Mr. Angel has also created the artwork for San Francisco’s 2005 celebration of El Dia de los Niños, El Dia de los Libros. For ages 5-10. An exhibit of his work is on display at the Children’s Center throughout the month of May.
