DESCRIPTION:<p>On the 20<sup>th</sup>&nbsp;anniversary of its publication, the creative team behind&nbsp;<em>Lakas and the Manilatown Fish</em>&nbsp;share their recollections on the creation of this landmark children's book, the first to feature an all-Filipino&nbsp;creative team.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Author Tony Robles, illustrator Carl Angel, designer Lucille Tenazas and editor&nbsp;Ina Cumpiano&nbsp;will discuss the origins of the&nbsp;Lakas&rsquo; story as well as the process of visually bringing that story to life while honoring a community that at the time had been sorely under-represented in children&rsquo;s books. We&rsquo;ll also hear from numerous voices in the community for whom the book has had a tremendous impact, ending with a 20th-anniversary&nbsp;reading of the book from author Tony Robles.</p>
