The Oscar&ndash;nominated cinematography, which chronicles the&nbsp;wordless&nbsp;development of trust between Alec Ramsay and The Black, is&nbsp;cinematic storytelling perfection.&nbsp;The musical score, also Oscar&ndash;nominated,&nbsp;accentuates the development&nbsp;of their relationship&nbsp;from tenuous fear and testing&nbsp;to the joyous abandonment into&nbsp;trust. Alec triumphantly riding The Black&nbsp;bareback,&nbsp;with&nbsp;thunderous tides&nbsp;rushing underfoot the stallion,&nbsp;is&nbsp;visually mesmerizing.
