DESCRIPTION:<p>Rock music historian and author <a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/search?query=richie%20unterberger&searchType=smart">Richie Unterberger</a> will show and discuss footage of<br />
Central and South American rock acts from the 1960s and early 1970s.<br />
Although these groups did not have international hits, these regions were<br />
home to many artists who put their own stamp on rock as it became a global<br />
phenomenon. Some of the featured acts include Os Mutantes and Gilberto Gil<br />
from Brazil; Los Shakers and Los Mockers, the Beatles and Rolling Stones<br />
respectively of Uruguay; and groups that did Spanish versions of US and<br />
British hits, like Los Locos Del Les Ritmo from Mexico.</p>
