DESCRIPTION:<p>Katherine Sibley will explore President&nbsp;Harding's passing in San Francisco one hundred years ago this month, August 2, 1923, and its aftermath. &nbsp;Harding's death was a shock to the nation, who mourned him and his funeral train from San Francisco to Washington to Marion, Ohio, while his wife, Florence Kling&nbsp;Harding, drew strength from the passing crowds while hoping to shape his legacy despite his critics.</p>

<p>Dr. Sibley, the Director of the American Studies Program at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, will be signing copies of her book,&nbsp;<em>First Lady Florence&nbsp;Harding: Behind the Tragedy and Controversy</em>, following the program.</p>
