La colección Alicia en el País de las Maravillas es una colección que no circula, formada por ediciones especiales de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas. La colección tiene copias de diversos ilustradores como Tony Ross, Barry Moser, Abelardo Morell, Helen Oxenbury, John Rocco, Ángel Dominguez, S. Michelle Wiggins, Anthony Browne, Peter Weevers, Mervyn Peake, Tove Jansson y otros más. Se ha hecho un esfuerzo por coleccionar copias en numerosos idiomas, sin embargo, la mayoría de estos libros se han incorporado a la colección que circula para permitir a los usuarios bibliotecarios que lean el libro en su idioma nativo. También se han coleccionado libros sobre el libro en sí mismo y sobre su autor Lewis Carroll. Asímismo se pueden encontrar otros libros especializados en el Centro de Arte del Libro y Colecciones Especiales en la sexta planta de la Biblioteca Central.
Recientemente, hemos adquirido varias ediciones antiguas de libros de Alicia. Como todavía no han sido catalogadas, no queríamos mencionar algunos de nuestros nuevos tesoros. La más notable es la edición ilustrada por Arthur Rackham, publicada por Heinemann and Doubleday Page en 1907. Esta primera edición contiene 13 ilustraciones a todo color cubiertas con papel de seda. La más curiosa es la escrita en taquigrafía GREGG, una primera edición de alrededor de 1915, publicada por la casa editorial Gregg. Las ilustraciones son de Georgie Gregg. Otra edición notable es Boys and Girls of Bookland, una antología publicada por David McKay Co., de Filadelfia, en 1923. Incluye un extracto de Alicia, quien está presente en la ilustración de la portada, realizada por Jessie Wilcox Smith. Y por último, aunque no por eso menos importante, hay una edición ilustrada por Bessie Pease Gutmann y publicada por Dodge Publishing Company en 1907, que incluye ilustraciones a todo color como así también únicas decoraciones de bordes de un llamativo color azul pálido.

Charles Lutwidge Dodson, better known as Lewis Carroll, first told "The Story of Alice's Adventures Underground" to the three young Liddell sisters at a picnic in July of 1862. He personally wrote out the story, adding illustrations, and presented the 90-page until 1865 that an expanded version of the story appeared in book form, with the immortal illustrations by Sir John Tenniel. The Original Alice tells the story of Dodson's friendship with Alice Liddell and the various stages the manuscript, went through before it was published as Alice's Adventures Underground. Included are facsimiles of Dodson's diary entries, the original manuscript and assorted photographs of Alice taken by the author.

New editions of this perennial favorite continue to be published sometimes as many as one a year. Dozens of accomplished artists have been intrigued by Carroll's fantasy world and have depicted it in a variety of styles. In this edition Morell incorporates cutouts of the familiar Tenniel images in shadowy photographs, bringing a surreal element to the children's classic. Lewis Carroll, himself an enthusiastic photographer, might well have enjoyed these unusual views of his imaginary "Wonderland."
