The book An Invisible Rope: Portraits of Czesław Miłosz, celebrates the life of Nobel poet Czesław Miłosz, who spent four decades of his long life in Berkeley, California. Join us when Peter Dale Scott, a former Canadian diplomat in Warsaw, and one of Miłosz’s earliest translator in the West and Cynthia Haven, editor for this book and perhaps the last journalist to interview Miłosz in the U.S. before his permanent return to Poland in 2000, remember one of America’s most eminent writers on Milosz’s centenary. A book sale by Readers Books follows the discussion.
